Hey guys, first off this is JUST a warning - nothing more, so please take with a grain of salt!
The whole story is kinda long so I'll just give the condensed version: I made plans with SPONG to buy some gift cards. Met up with him and tried to verify the card amounts by calling the 1-800 number, but just my luck the service wasn't working that day and GC amounts could not be verified. (I even had SPONG call using his own phone to verify) So I made plans with him to meet a couple of days later. He then emails me and says 'something' had come up and he has to go to HK for an undetermined length of time. I tried to meet him right away (before his trip) and he declined making it sound like someone had died in HK. I told him to contact me when he gets back but nothing. A couple of days after his 'trip' I see postings on RFD from him and now he is trying to sell/trade the GCs!
Before anyone starts saying he can choose to sell to whomever he wants, that part is cool with me, I'm just saying he didn't have to lie like a cheap rug! He could have just been a man and said 'hey, I kinda changed my mind and would like to try and sell them for more or even possibly trade them' and I would have been cool with that, I might have even matched any new price!
But, like I said at the start of the post, this is just a heads up, nothing more since we did not conduct the sale. But if he's willing to concoct some hair brain excuse just to get out of a sale who knows what else he is capable of!
cheers guys and be safe! :D
