The one opposite Eaton center..It was the last one in stock with them (52" W series was not even on display). Maybe that's why they sold it for less.. Check with other FS if they have it in stock..With FS, you can negotiate the prices.. they generally reduce it...

No way in hell a sales rep from FS is going to bring down a price of a $3099 TV to $2149. FS Sales Rep are out to get massive amount of commission as they can get out of there products.
Check your model number again. Even if its a right model as you posted in the OP, it has to be a display or refurbish model.

It was priced at 2599 last week at FS and not 3099. Model # is correct and it is a new TV. It is with the internet features. Was watching youtube on it y/day...

+1, I was wondering the same how a $3K TV got dropped down to $2150. That would have been a good deal. I'm off to Futureshop later and see what I get quoted.

Oh nice. How do they do the price negotiation? Do they check the computer for the lowest estimated sale price?

FYI Dell.com has this model on sale listed at $1,799.00, therefore ~ cnd$2100 sounds about right. This should give you an idea what the mark-ups are on some electronics ;)

Keep in mind, Sony discontinued the W model a few months ago, and has since introduced a few newer models in the W & Z (and possibly others; not sure). I'm guessing that this might have been the last old version that FS had in stock??
The new Z is currently selling for less the new W, around $2900 at BB & FS, so for a little more you can get some good new features/engine, etc.!

I think you're wrong. This series (W5100) will be Sony's least expensive HDTVs to feature the interactive doo-dads.
This is KDL-W5100, successor to last year's KDL-W4100 series, and the "big" improvement over the last one is yahoo widgets.

I was looking for that model for the last few weeks and followed its price on sonystyle.ca site.
Two weeks ago the price was 3100 minus 200 promotional discount minus 250-300 for a bluray player that they were giving with that model.
Then the price went down to 2900 minus 200, no free BD
Last Friday it jumped back to 3100 without any discount and no free BD.
Today it got updated: it is 2800 minus 300 = $2500
FS has not changed their 3100 during all that time... there are no other stores that have that model - Sears believes they would get it soon, Brick and BB do not have it in their system yet (I checked a week ago).
The bottom line, 2150 is the best price for today and I'd certainly get one for myself... the scan or photo of the receipt would help me a lot.
* A week ago I've got Sharp LC52E77U for $2000 based on its price, reviews and specs. Now I see that that was a mistake. Will return it tomorrow and get Sony 52W5100

I've got this TV for the same price today. I came to another FS ready for a long negotiation. Showed these numbers and got "OK, I can do that". So easy... I was a bit disappointed :)
Thanks OP!

Not trying to rain on your parade, but you also bought the PSP plan for it, that's why you got it at that price with no hassle. That kind of makes your TV $2520

That's correct. The OP could provide more info in the original posting, however I'm happy about that deal and 0 negotiation time.
Would I believe that I really have to get that price and no PSP, then I could return PSP as a separate product and keep the TV.
If someone is going to match that deal, he can try to lower it for another $100. I do not know what is the margin on that TV, but they accepted the proposed amount too easy...

Last week I bought same TV (KDL52-W5100) from FS (400/Hwy7 location) for $2149. The TV was on sale for $2399 and they gave it to me for $2149 after telling them about somebody buying it for less ....thanks to this thread.......
So...if you happen to look for a Sony TV....there is still room for negotiation .....at FS...

Did you bring a receipt or just told them about the lowered pricing? Will you be able to scan and post your receipt?
Thanks!
