Man my right eye lid has been twitching on and off these last few days. It actually happens to me once in a while, super annoying. I do think sometimes its an omen. Normally its a sign that I will have a conflict soon. For example, my eye twitched for like a few weeks, then 2 days after it stopped, my car got stolen. Other times it stops then I get sick or something. Anyone believe in the right eye twitch brings bad luck?

In Chinese culture, left eye twitching is good luck, and right eye twitching is bad luck I believe. So bad luck to you. Anyways, hopefully nothing happens.

I'm sorry but myth's and superstitions such as that are extremely lame. No offense.

I had this problem a few years ago when a family member passed away. Went to the doctor and found out it was due to stress.

In that case, good thing my left eye twitches once in awhile. It has never happened to my right eye before. I'm Chinese. :D

Could be due to fatigue.

I had this problem for awhile. It went away by itself.
I have read online it can be due to stress, caffeine, lack of sleep, or any number of things.
All in all, nothing to worry about. If anything it is a good excuse to take a long weekend vacation somewhere. Labour day is coming up, ideal time :P

Ditto. This happens to me when I drink too much coffee. Nothing to do with luck, everything to do with self-control on the caffeine intake :)

Maybe you were winking at girls (or guys) too much on the weekend and now you can't stop.

Bananas.
some muscle twitches are caused by not having enough ions (magnesium, potassium), hence the bananas remedy
ions are necessary for certain enzymes to function. the relevant enzyme for muscle twitching is acetylcholinesterase (ACE). ACE breaks down acetylcholine (Ach) which is the neurotransmitter that tells your muscles to contract.
if not enough ACE working => extra Ach in the synapse => extra muscle firing = twitching
eat bananas, take a multivitamin daily

It's normal and goes away on it's own.

Yeah, it happens to me once in a while as well. It's a potassium deficiency. I personally hate bananas, so I substitute with okra and kiwis.

Had the same problem in school when I was really short on sleep.
Even when you start sleeping right again, it takes a while for the twitch to go away.

Normal.
Like other people had suggested, its mainly due to the factors below:
- Low magnesium, potassium instake (bananas help - People say glass of milk a day helped too)
- Lack of sleep
- Too much caffeine
- Stress (this is the big issue).
- Lack of exercise (this is another big one)
I had the eye twitch for a while, but then it kinda shafted me and now i twitch all over the place. Its great. Keeps me company when I'm bored.
The eye thing usually happens on the top lid, but once it starts to get more aggressive it moves to the bottom one. When I got it a few weeks back, it would twitch everytime I blinked. Now that was annoying.
P.S. don't look up twitching on the internet, it gives off a lot of scary ****.

I had my eye twitching (I think it was my right eye). I found out it was due to high stress and fatigue.
