Someone hacked into my Facebook, posted some nasty pictures in my album, and wrote stupid things on my friends' walls. Watch your Facebook account!

Don't know how to trace them, but I hope they die a slow sick death.

Id say thats probably the reason. How many times do people go to Facebook on the macs at the Apple store and just close the browser when they leave.

Logging into FB at such a public space and not logging out is just asking for it.

If one is really lucky, the next person to use the computer will log out for the previous user. If they're lucky.

...it's only facebook...let this be a lesson to you cause if it was your bank account...i think posting nasty pics is the least of your concern.

facebook, twitter, friendster, blah blah blah. It's only a freakin' webpage. Snap out of it, there's more to life than that! Seriously, too many ppl too often cry and argue over online material. What does it matter at the end of the day???

Well I wasn't at BB, but I did find this - for those who think it's a joke, maybe this will hit your accounts too

FaceBook accounts and the like being hacked is nothing new. No one's necessarily saying it's a joke/not real. Just that it's extreme to be asking for someone's death just because they altered your account and posted messages to other accounts from yours. It's just FaceBook, and some think you're taking it too seriously. Really, death?

I sadly came to the realization of this truth a few weeks ago.

4chan recently ran a campaign to hack into a number of FB accounts. May or may not be related to OP's experience.

Seriously...I see people log in every single second of day on their facebook. Is it that important to see so and so's new pictures or new wall posts to be logging in all the time? It's crazy...I see people having to go to Apple stores or Bestbuy just to check their facebook like it's so damn important. You want to contact someone? Go and call them.

Oh man...I heard about that just as it was starting, and I went to 4chan and witnessed that thread in action and it was not pretty....the reactions of the Facebook victims friends were also a sight to watch..

Anyways, just make sure your password is not your name (someone actually used their name as their password for every single electronic account they had!!!)

Here's a tip for an unbeatable password. Memorize a phrase that is important to you, such as I have loved peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch since I was 13. Then take the first letter of every word, IHLPBAJSFLSIW13, and voila, you have a virtually impregnable password.

Usually these things don't really have anything to do with 'hacking' and people are just being phished (typing their credentials into fake login pages).

People need to learn to look at the address bar and make sure they're on the real page when entering passwords.

For sure. LOL @ people that think any "unauthorised/illegitimate" use of a computer is "hacking". Reminds me of "hacking with Ramzi (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDFXaqDf8kk)" This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQR17j1n00Q) episode is even more funny.

It could be phishing but it might just be logging on to your account somewhere outside of your own computer as other ppl mentioned. In fact that's probably most likely what it is. Hacking, lol hacking.

Probably happened already. It's happened over phone text messages so I'm sure it's happened over sites like MySpace, fb, etc.

lol I remember when a friend of mine used my pc to access facebook and ended up saving his browser session..

a few of us logged into his account and messed around with his status updates, also made him join all these groups and events like "Big gay oily orgy" and "scat & watersports fans" which got published to his news feed for friends to see.. by the time he found out about the prank a couple people removed him from their friends list..

we all had a nice laugh about it.. Moral of the story? Don't screw around carelessly on any computer

Please provide proof OP forgot to log out on public computer, there are no evidence in OP original post suggest that. Unless you are sharing your own story and laughing at your own stupidity.

d) You received an email from Facebook Team telling you that your account has been compromised and in order to continue using your account, you need to sign in and verify your information at Facebook.com (http://www.fakephishingfacebookwithfakeloginpage.com.fore igndomain/). If you do not sign in within the next 24 hours your account will be deleted.

Well, I can say with strong conviction that there is no way a hacker can get into my account, even with bruteforce - my password's like that. No filthy pictures, no phony messages, no weird status things - nada.

Why?

Because I don't have a Facebook account. Never had, never will.

Ha! Try hacking into my non-existent Facebook account now, fools! mua ha ha ha ha ...

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you create and let me hack your new Facebook account, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

Ooo, my (non-existent) Facebook account - which will remain non-existent because I am a staunch believer that Facebook is a stupid idea (what happened to talking to friends in person?) - is quivering in it's boots.

That said, if your haxor skillz are so nightmare-ish, why haven't you hacked already existing Facebook accounts? You realize how many Hannah Montana fans (better yet, Twilight fans) you could be playing with now? Hello, if you don't have any money, pretend to be Robert Pattinson and just watch the adoration ($$$) pour in.

'Sides, should anyone really be afraid of a person who likes to listen to Hilary Duff (http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showpost.php?p=9318983&postcount=495)?

This is our world now. The world of the electron and the switch, the beauty of the baud. We exist without nationality, skin color, or religious bias. You wage wars, murder, cheat, lie to us and try to make us believe it's for our own good, yet we're the criminals. Yes, I am a criminal. My crime is that of curiosity. I am a hacker and this is my manifesto." Huh, right, manifesto?

Ha for sure. Quick someone make a new fb account using the name "45ED" and post some "nasty pics" up LOL

Then all they'd need to do is "hack" 45EDs RFD account, and put a link to said fb page in his/her sig. HAHAHA.

Which highlights the precise problem with the internet: we've become so dependent (in theory) on it that it doesn't take much for one haxor to muck things up.

Though I'd wonder about why a haxor would target a user rather than something more profitable.
