Recommendations for AM2+/AM3 socket cooler.

I'd like one that's relatively quiet. My stock heatsink on my Phenom II 955 is doing a wonderful job, keeping it under 55C on full load and overclocked to 3.6. However, it makes a very annoying whining noise.

Basically, I would like to be able to OC to 3.8 or 4.0, and keep it running under 60C on full load.

Cost is not a major issue, but of course, the more money I save, the better.

Thanks.

The very best one of that list is the Ultra 120 but you need to buy yourself a 120mm fan separately. You can also setup that cooler with dual 120mm fans (one to pull air, one to push air). I've done this and over a long time I have found that this is the BEST air cooler.

The 13~32 dba, 32 is kind of loud, right?
My main reason for getting an aftermarket is so that it's quiet, and the overclocking is a plus.

If you are going for the Cooler Master Hyper 212, make sure it is the Hyper 212 PLUS you are getting...very good cooler and not expensive too.

There is a difference in the pitch of the noise ... Since most aftermarket ones are using 92mm+ fan(s), they tend to have lower pitch which makes them slightly easier on ears.
