I wonder how it compares to the Slysoft Suite (http://www.slysoft.com/en/), and whether it needs frequent updates for new movies.

I guess another way to put it is, is the product really "free" or just free to use until Sep 30th., then its a must buy to continue to use - similar to a shareware.

one question:
can i rip the dvd's on my PC and further copy them to blank dvd's too.
if yes in what format should i rip them.
thanks

if you want to copy them back to dvds, you can just use dvddecrypter (full 8GB) or dvdshrink (4GB).

anyways, I just tried this program to rip some videos to psp.
I select PSP normal mp4, and then when rip it, it crashes at the end of the rip.

Also, there are no editing options to merge or split titles or chapters.
I want to merge several titles from a dvd into one file, but that cannot be done, and to remove intro logos and end credits chapters, but that cannot be done.

HMm... maybe I am just using it wrong.

Virustotal.com is showing the file has the following:
> Win32.Heuristic.co

Anyone has any idea what this is? Is it a false positive or something more??

"You will receive a fully version of WinX DVD Ripper platinum when you successfully sign-up with or purchase from any one of our affiliate partners during the TrialPay checkout."

Hmmm I will test it out on one of my test systems during the check out and see what it does. Would be handy for ripping movies onto the Zune on my trip to Vegas. Thanks!

Update:

Thanks for the udpated link, I went to their page and there was a banner on the right hand side saying you had to use some check out in order to get it for free. Will use the link provided and check it out.

Downloaded it last night and tried it out on Troy, works perfectly, very simple point and click interface. Wish I had had this to rip Firefly to my Zune during my last vacation, but oh well. Thanks OP, and to those who provided the direct download link.

There's a new freebie from Winxdvd, this time it is DVD Author:

http://www.winxdvd.com/specialoffer/oct09.htm

For those of you that downloaded DVD Ripper Platinum, I haven't been able to burn my rips to a DVD and play them on my divx player (I've tried two different players). They stream to my 360 with no issues, but I get garbage when I burn them on disks.

Can someone who successfully ripped and burned to DVD tell me what settings to use? I think that I've just used the default settings, but I haven't had any luck.
