It's supposedly at least 6 hours.
There is more to this than just a new single player game.
It comes with all the original Halo 3 maps including the 3 released map packs and then some more originals.

Halo 3 wasn't even 6 hours long
everyone I know that has beaten the game says it's 2 1/2-3 hours
also who hasn't owned Halo 3 at some point for 360 already? Paying $70 just to get it's MP over again doesn't seem like a good investment to me when Halo 3 has been on sale for $10 on multiple occasions

I don't know anyone who finished it in less than 7 on the 2 higher difficulties. I don't think you could even do a speed run in 3 if you tried.
ODST should be at least 5 or 6. Your 3 hour number is from 1.5 years ago.

People will want this for 4 reasons... first the new single player story, second if you havnt bought the dlc maps on halo 3 you get them plus 3 exclusive maps from odst, 3rd firefight mode, and last but not least the beta to the next true full blown halo game which is the prequel Halo Reach (which is built on new engine etc)

I don't agree with M$/Bungie being greedy, especially since earlier in this game's development it was touted as a stand alone expansion at a reduced price point. When a close to finished product was show to Microsoft, apparently they made the decided to release it at the same price as new release games.
