Need to get some guidance....
I completed my second energy audit May 26 and it was submitted to NrCan. I got the confirmation that they have received.
I was advised by my Energy Advisor it woud take 90 days for a chq to come.
August 26 came round.. No chq.
Contact 1888 number 2 weeks back and received a call today from Ottawa...
The lady on the phone said that the file is currently being reveiwed by the Technical Dept... She mentioned that since July 1 no further action has taken place.. Still with the technical side.
I asked her if i can get further details. She didnt know... All she was doing was reading off her screen.. She said she will get someone else to call me.. Typical answer.
She told me that the National Energy Advisor (company that did the review) will contact myself
Any help please

I received my Fed cheque in about 3 months and the Provincial cheque about 6 weeks later, all per the time period my assessor told me it would take.
Don't know what more to tell you, sorry.

I had this happen at the end of last year. The program had run out of money and was waiting till the next budget came it. It ended up delaying my cheque by 2 months. You energy advisor company can find out the status of your cheque.

I got in touch with NRcan and they said it was being manually reviewed...
The file has remained status quo since june 21st,,
the lady said it was how the file was sent and they had to manually review it
This is all new to me.....

Sounds like you have been in touch with NRCan... but have you been in touch with your Eco Energy Auditor? It sounds like your file is delayed due to "the way it was filed" - your auditor should be made aware of this, just in case they did something incorrectly. Perhaps the auditor would have more success following up too?

wow, I had my 2nd audit done in mid November, and was starting to wonder when the money would show up. I hope mine doesn't take 6 months to show up!

It took 3 months for us to get the original $150 back from our ecoEnergy Retrofit (http://sustainablepersonalfinance.com/our-ecoenergy-retrofit/) analysis. Our follow up is Friday and we hope our rebate arrives as quickly as the first payment.

does not sound incentive... :P
by the way, does it apply to Eastern Canada only?

No, you have to check the details in your own Region or province.
In Ontario, People have until March 31st 2011 to get the Post inspection completed. As you can imagine, alot of people took part in the program. With the deadline approaching quickly, people are encouraged to get the "E" audit done sooner..rather than later. NRCAN is expecting there to be a "last minute rush". If that happens, there will obviously be tons a files.. which ain't gonna get paid for a long time.
Basically, the later you file.. the longer you'll wait to get your money.
Last i checked there's 54 days left.. 54 days!!.. Till March 31st..I remember New Years like it was last week!

We had our eco-energy retrofit (http://sustainablepersonalfinance.com/our-ecoenergy-retrofit/) follow up completed last week and the audit guy said it should take about 4 months to get our rebates. I looked up how to install a low flow toilet (http://sustainablepersonalfinance.com/how-to-install-a-low-flow-toilet/) and it was remarkably simple to install the pair.

I have my pre-retrofit energy audit done in May 2010. I only had my attic insulation increased to R50 and two toilets replaced. Having learned about the Federal grants coming back, wonder if we can take advantage of it for
1. those upgrades/retrofit improvement completed between April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011?
2. whether we can do more such as window replacement after March 31, 2011 and apply for both provincial and federal government's grants? In that case, do I need to redo the pre-retrofit energy audit again?
3. Will the provincial government continue its ecoenergy grant after March 31, 2011? For those who have their first energy audit done after March 31, 2010, can the post-energy audit be done after March 31, 2011 so that more works can be done before the second energy audit and to also obtain support from the Federal government?
4. I still haven't done my post-retrofit energy audit (have one scheduled on March 30) and wonder whether I can cancel and wait for next year when more jobs are done?
5. In other words, can an homeowner participate in this program in different years for new completed retrofit items?
Look forward to hearing your wisdom and advice.
Thank you.

The intent of the program (if it's ever passed into law LOL) would be to encourage homeowners to undertake new renovations. Why would you get an financial incentive for something you've already done?

My provincial rebate arrived early last week. Making it about 2.5 months to get the provincial rebate. Still waiting for my federal.

It took maybe 4 weeks to get our federal rebate, followed by city of Toronto almost immediately, followed by the Provincial one withing about 10 days. The Toronto one was a nice surprise ($175 or so), I didn't know they offered anything. It was for the insulation improvements and the low-flow toilet.
