Hi,
This is my first post (I've always been a fan of this site, but never really had much to post about) and was wondering if fellow RFD'ers can help me out.
I just bought a place and I need to put in a new home theatre system. I've been monitoring the flyers from FS and Bestbuy only for the past couple of weeks and saw this sale below. Its $900 for an Infinity Primus Speaker package:
http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=BDL10002042&catid=24476
2 P362 Towers
2 P152 Bookshelfs
1 PC250
1 PS28 subwoofer
I ended up buying the speakers because they sounded decent and figure I can't really go wrong with the Infinity brand (I also bought a Pioneer VSX-819 receiver to pair with these speakers). I don't know much about audio but I figure these are quite cheap for the price? I am concerned that the sub might be a little under powered. And another concern I have is that the bookshelfs are way too big and based on my room's configuration, they'll stick out like a sore thumb. At this point I'm not sure how I'd like to mount them and my wife will kill me if I spend more money to get speaker stands, haha...
I'm starting to wonder if this is a good deal and also whether its overkill for what I need. The room that its going to be in is 16'x11'. This system is really mostly for movies and perhaps some music when guests are over. I'm wondering if these are basically around the best I could get for $900. Another thought is whether I should wait for a sale on smaller speakers like Polk Audio. This way I can save a couple hundred dollars and also mount the rears on the wall without them looking hideous (or an actual hazard).
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Jason
