Hi guys;

I need your advice on laptop battery. I have Sony VGN-TX750P laptop. My battery is dead, and I need to replace it. I have checked an OEM battery from Sony, and it is really pricey ... like $200 US. Thus I decided to purchase a battery from either McVolt ($50) or Hi-Capacity ($100) from Battery-Biz. I don't know which one I should purchase. How about the website like, canada-battery.ca ? Can I really trust those batteries manufactured by the third party ???

What do you think ? Have you had any experience in purchasing laptop battery ? Btw I live in Toronto. I need your advice where I should buy my battery. Thank you in advance. :)

Regards,

Kevin

Well, 3rd party batteries, some of them are good, some aren't. Some use the same top-quality cells, and some of them use lesser quality cells.

I recently bought a replacement 3rd party battery for my Dell Latitude D830 laptop. I'd say it has about 85% of the performance of the original OEM battery. But it only cost me $96, whereas, Dell wanted ~$200 for their version of the battery. So not the end of the world.
