Just wanted to share this info with people who might be interested in purchasing Bugaboo Cameleon

At csnbaby.com, you could purchase Bugaboo Cameleon for $650 - only for dark blue or orange base though.

The tailored fabric set for canvas is $99 and if you are getting fleece fabric set, it's cheaper.

The only problem with this deal is that they won't ship it to Canada and it takes 3-5 weeks before they will ship the item out.

But it's an amazing deal if you don't mind the colour or the fact it's in US.

Bugaboo Cameleon is for baby. It's a baby stroller that usually goes for $1300 in CDN before tax.

For us, we were debating between Bugaboo Frog or Uppababy Vista.

Once we saw this, we wanted to order it since my husband will be in US for business trip but the shipping is taking too long to meet our needs. But I wanted other parents who might be in similar position to take advantage of this deal if they wanted to.

I think what they are getting at is when you are spending upwards of $600 on a baby stoller, you are paying for a status symbol rather that a transportation mode.

That being said, we paid $$ for our double Chariot and have gotten every penny back from it. Use it constanly all year round as a stroller, jogger, and bike trailer.

Parents, probably :D

+1...it's for the parents ;)

by age 2...it's pretty much useless as the toddler is usually running around and/or it's too small already.

so the stroller becomes a coat and grocery cart

sorry, my tongue was firmly in my cheek on my initial response...should have been more clear by saying something like smoking deal 650 for baby stroller just screams oxy moron...or perhaps walking up to someone with this stroller and say "wow, what kind of stroller is this....i see them everywhere...":cheesygri

I know it's a lot of money.

We still can't believe we are thinking of spending that much money on the stroller. However, we really want lightweight stroller and bugaboo is lightest with all the functions that we would want.

Also, the fact that bugaboo can be resold for $500-600 makes it easier for us to accept the sale price of $650 instead of $1300 in CDN.

Even the fabric is cheaper in US than in here. Also, I don't think you can order without ordering the fabric.

i don't get the whole "it's light so it's worth the $" theory. how far are you carrying your stroller?????? aren't you PUSHING IT? i think the only time i ever lift my stroller is to put it in the back of my minivan. that's IT! so i dont' get paying extra for it being 'light'.
also, there is no cup holder?? or place for the kid to put a snack? i dont' get these 'expensive designs'... that aren't practical at ALL. to each their own i guess, but i'd rather spend the money i saved on my other things!!

Why are Bugaboo strollers so expensive?

All I gather is that they are light weight. Is this more just a status symbol or name brand thing?

Are they really that great?

If you have the money, then go for it.. All the power to you..

Personally, I can find better ways to spend on my baby then on a stroller..

If you live in downtown TO without a vehicle, I can understand you would spend extra on a good stroller. $650 is insane. I would rather put the money into their future education.

Yes, if you have the money, go help the 3rd world kids, Wordvision ;)

mkjr: Props to you for recanting though I don't think your post was bad. Not helpful, but not mean.

To some of the other trolls that posted, it's people like you that prevent people from posting deals in the future.

So what if she wants to spend money on a trailer. How is that different from guys getting a nice car or girls spending $1000 on a stupid brand name purse.

Everyone should be able to spend their money how they like. For the person who mentioned charities, unless you have absolutely no luxuries and only pure basic goods and you forego all entertainment to donate to charities, don't tell other people how to spend their money. Hell even if you do, you still have no right telling people how to spend their money.

I for one have benefited from a lot of deals for things like video games that others think are useless. As I'm looking for baby stuff too, I hope I see more deals, even if I have no intention of buying the top of the line anything. If the deal were $100 would you buy it over the one you did buy? Everyone has a different price that they considered attractive, that's the point of posting. If it's cold, then it's cold, but different people have different perspectives, we don't all have to think like you.

If you have no interest in this product, then why did you read it? Just so you could post how you are so smart for not buying it? I'm so sick of you trolls who scare off posters just so you can feel more smug about yourself.

Sorry for the rant, just hate people who have nothing to contribute but negativity.

Keep up all deal posts.

hey man if I had the cash I would buy one!

Nothing wrong with spending the $$ if you got it, but some people don't have the cash and they still buy expensive stuff to make them look rich.

now thats wrong.

i think the OP lives in North York, around empress walk...i can tell you 90% (9/10) of the strollers on this side of Yonge street are bugaboos...so that's the reason.

Similar to NYC...if you don't have something mainstream...you look out of place.

Really it's for parents making sure they fit in the community...stroller being light, etc...have very little bearing on why these strollers are purchased. When you go to a mother goose and 9/10 parents are using a bugaboo...well you get the picture.

i don't care if you have the money or not. there is no cup holder. my kid likes his cup. how can anyone buy a stroller with no cup holder? i don't get it. status or not, you're crazy if you buy something 100% just to fit in at mother goose. btw what is mother goose? sounds awesome...

Actually I don't live in North York. I do work around Empress Walk area but haven't seen anybody with Bugaboo. I see more Peg Perego or Graco than Bugaboo in that area. So I wasn't being influenced by what I see or heard from friends (since none of my friends have kids).

Like I mentioned in previous posts, we went to two stores and asked for stroller that is lightweight, has bassinet, reversible seats, easy to use and good quality stroller. From both stores, we were recommended Bugaboo or Uppababy.

Once we saw the price, like so many people in here we were hesitant because we couldn't believe how expensive it was. My inlaws told me that they will pay for the stroller as a gift but we still didn't want to spend $$ just for the sake of spending money or for status symbol like some people have mentioned.

From the research in this forum, many mentioned that stroller will be cheaper in US and we were leaning towards purchasing Uppababy since it's cheaper with all the features we wanted (yes it's a bit heavier but we couldn't justify spending additional $$ for Bugaboo).

Now, in my research with US website, I came across Bugaboo Cameleon for $650 which was even cheaper than Uppababy in US. So we decided to order Cameleon since my husband will be in US for a business trip. However, CSNBABY.COM cannot deliver the item to his office in time for him to pick it up so we can't take the advantage of the sale.

I've put this post up in parenting hoping that it could help someone who might be in similar situation even though it hasn't helped me. I wanted to return the favour to other members since so many has helped me make decision or help me find good deals.

It never occured to me that I will be critized for even posting. Like sorjue mentioned, this might not be good deal for many but for few people, this could be super helpful because many people do want cameleon for whatever reason.

Isn't the whole point of redflag deals to find deals so you don't have to pay the full price?

You know what? If you were able to buy this for $650, there's a good chance you'd be able to sell it at that price after 2 years. (look at current craigslist postings) I don't know what resale is on cheaper strollers but if you can use it (the Bugaboo) for a couple of years for pretty much $0 (maybe lose potential interest!?) then who's laughing now?

Bugaboo makes a great stroller at a premium price. I have heard they have excellent customer service too. Worth the money? Probably not. But there are a lot of things that certainly aren't worth the money.

OP, good deal for this product -- which is what this site is all about.

Jasira, what a fantastic deal. A friend of mine in the US is on the hunt for a bugaboo, but she's having a hard time finding one under 1K. Too bad this deal is now expired, she would've loved it.

As for all you other random commenters, it's absolutely none of your business to judge how anyone spends their money.

That is a poor comparison. The usefulness of a $1000+ TV lasts at least 5 years. Not to mention about enjoyment of a whole family.

Hooray~

I'm glad some was able to take advantage of this sale :)

Unfortunately we had to cancel the order with CSNBaby.com sometime in late November. CSN postponed delivery date several times, with latest promise of a deliver date around Christmas - way past our expected due date. I tried to work out the issue with them. However, they just simply had nothing to deliver for over two months.

We ended up buying a new one for CAD$700 from a lady on Kijiji in GTA. That didn't work out fantastically either because we got something either than the US/Canadian model. It might be a fake, but most likely it just European model.

All parts of our Bugaboo are fully interchangeable with whatever Bugaboo parts we can buy here. For example, we did end up getting snow wheels from CSNBaby.com, and they fit just fine our stroller.

In any case I don't think I'd buy this stroller again as it delivers a better product for way too much of a money premium. Good item to brag about, not such a great value though.

we bought our bugaboo for $950 in 2008 and then sold it in 2009 for $800...don't think you could that kind of return for a 40 inch lcd tv.

and i definitely think a 40inch tv is a luxury item...i think you could find a cheaper tv that would still be suitable for viewing.

the point is that people should spend their money way any way they want...whether that be on a luxury stroller or a luxury car or a LV handbag

Same here, I was not pleased by CSNBaby at all. With countless phone calls I finally got a Bugaboo from them, new year/model/color for an extra $80. Still a good enough deal for me to go ahead with. It was the frustration and hassle of it all that I was unhappy with, CSN customer rep was actually quite good about everything, but they should have offered the new stroller to me at the price I paid for the original.

After the sale I had about $35 in CSN reward dollars, so 80-35 = 45 isn't terrible. I used the $35 to buy a car seat adapter for the Bugaboo.

All in all, I figure I can sell it used in some number of years and come out fairly even.

status aside, which is clearly one of the reason's people buy high end strollers, they are generally lighter, smaller, easier to handle and come with some interesting and useful features.

the resale value on them are quite high. I've been through a few different types of high end strollers and never had a problem selling them for 60-70% of what I paid. they ARE status symbols, so they're very easy to unload on craigslist, etc.

once you factor the resale value in, they're only marginally more expensive than a 300 giant plastic POS that you can't give away for free when you're done with it.

what are the chances of someone stealing a $1000 stroller? i mean, not with a baby in it. if i park it outside my house for 10 minutes while I run inside to do something. happens to high-end bikes all the time. does the same thing happen with strollers?
