Sometimes my baby is waking in the middle of the night with nasal congestion and cries when can't breath through the nose.
Have you used Salinex for babies?

Triaminic makes an infants saline nasal mist - I find the mist works much better than the drops or sprays! You can find it at walmart, zellers and most drug stores.

Have you tried putting a humidifier in the baby's room?

Have you tried putting a humidifier in the baby's room?
I thought humidity would cause nasal congestion.

Have you tried the hydra sense drops? I spray a few drops in about 2-3 times a day before each feed and it works great!

How do I check the humidity level of a room?
Is there a gadget or something?
I'm reading conflicting information regarding humidifiers and dehumidifiers....

we had the same problem.
bought a humidity checking tool from dealextreme
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3172 ( there's a few diff models available )
we also bought a humidifier -- it becomes necessary in the winter.
due to preservatives/chemicals in store bought salinex/alternatives, you should get it checked by a doctor before using it. we made our own salinex solution following some instructions online that worked well, ander the advise of a midwife -- 1/2tsp salt with 8oz boiled water, kept in a pre-boiled/sterile container/bottle ( we used a baby bottle ) .. and we'd just put drops or squirt some into the nostrils when necessary.
but most of all, the humidifier is important, as it also settles more of the airborn dust in the room. try to keep it at avg 50 to 60% humidity if the baby always has stuffy nose until it gets better. also try to get a cool mist one, as hot mist may lead to bacteria building up inside the humidifier ( we replaced our hot mist with a cool mist one later )
if the baby sleeps in a crib, try propping up the mattress on the headside with a rolled up towel underneath the crib mattress just slightly ( you have to check up once in a while to make sure the baby hasn't rolled down the recline) , or if you are co-sleeping , prop the baby up with your arm -- this seems to calm them down quicker, and decreases the breathing problem.

my 10 week old baby gets hard boogers in his nose. they're deep in there and we can't get them out... we bought hydrasense gentle mist and give it a squirt and he seems to be able to breath much better. he does fuss a bit after the squirt but 5 seconds later, he's completely calm and can breath so much better.
i also definitely need to get a humidifier for his nursery. hopefully that helps.

The humidity levels in our room range from 40% to 50%.
Is that good?
I don't think I need a humidifier.

Saline spray works well for our 1.5 year old too. She loves it! Strange, but she loves getting it shot up her nose.

our ped recommended salinex for our daughter at around 1 month when we mentioned to him that she sounds like there's blockage in her nasal passage. No more hard boogers she breaths just fine now but we added a humidifier in her room now and we dont use the drops anymore.
