It's just as simple as taking her sim card from her current phone and putting it into the new one. Since both phones are with Fido there's no need to transfer anything other than the physical sim card.

Not 100% true. I know people with Roger's phones who had to unlock them for Fido. I think it depends on the phone.

I was wondering if this phone would be good to get for a trip I will be taking? So just get the phone, get the sim card, buy pas as you go minutes?

Also if I buy the mins for it, could I use it in the new place and it would still be the same price as any other place?

They're still run as two separate providers. To use a Rogers phone on Fido or vice-versa, the phone must be unlocked.

The Source ships a large amount of its clearance products back to the Barrie warehouse to be sold online. These may have been demo units back in 06/07, repacked and shipped back to be sold again. If you look at the previous Source threads, we can see that there are some very nice Source demos, and some horrible Source demos.

True. They did this with the Panasonic Lumix L7 ultrazoom cameras a while ago. Blew them out at $99. I bought a few and the packaging had all been opened but the cameras were all in new condition with all orginal contents. There was a special 90-day "refurbished" warranty from the manufacturer though.

Do these cell phones ship with the original unused SIM cards? If so, their value should be considered, i.e. about $15 on the resale market.

yep... it becomes pretty obvious when you see online demo clearance items appear but when you check their instore product locator (http://www.thesource.ca/estore/locator.aspx) online via SKU (catalog #), it'll say OOS for every single TS store in Canada

Moto L2 - this one was used as a demo for sure as the package contents were bare except: batt., sim, charger, manuals.

SE K510a - looks BNIB, just the packaging was opened.

Yup, both had SIMs included in the packaging, for the L2, the SIM was out of the plastic card and stuck in between some cardboard in the box.

WOW This turned out to be a smoking deal for me. I grabbed an L2 and V360 both boxes where factory sealed and in new condition. I thought possibly they were repacked, but after opening both boxes these phones where definitely NEW! All contents were packaged separately, and included the FIDO SIM cards :-D
