Long and Mcquade now offers an 88 key weighted, hammer action, graded midi controller keyboard for $359 on close out. They have discontinued the model. Please note that the keyboard is not very portable - you can't fit it in a normal compact, for example, so plan on other means of transportation if you intend to purchase, or strap it to your roof.

Here is a link about the keyboard and the included software:

Hot damn!

Should I get rid of my Keystation Pro for this?

Geez, I wouldn't know, I'm a guitarist. I can't seem to figure out where to plug my guitar into this thing, that's my first problem ;) .

Seriously, I would suggest a trip down to have a play. It's a nice feeling pro style controller keyboard that people would have paid top dollar for about 10 years ago...maybe it's better than the m-audio. I've heard things about the velocity response on some of the cheaper weighted keyboards...

Can you tell me which location you saw this at? Any idea if they're still available?

Thx.

I picked one up last month (thanks OP) at the Mississauga Location, Rathburn west of Mavis. They had 2 at that time.

I just called that store and they have 7...Scarborough store has 6...Steve's Music is also selling it at the same price, but I didn't call to check stock.

Any ideas on a sound module for this? Something cheap and portable with a great piano sound?

I just picked one up at the Waterloo location this weekend. Nice action on the keys! They even gave me a $20 gift card too! So extra good deal.

I didn't realize this thing had MIDI over USB (in addition to the regular cables) and the ability to power itself over USB as well. I just plug it into my Mac Mini running the included Cubase 4 AI software from the keyboard. How's that for small and portable? :)
