"Thank you for your email. Your name has been added to the Pioneer Palooza 6 guest list.

Remember too that the free Jaguar event (http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/jaguar-xj-launch-event-free-food-booze-oct-22-a-797881/) with food/booze is that night too. So load up on grub and alcohol before heading to CLounge.

I hope it doesn't make any differences because for the people who mentioned that they are part of Red Media List and then requires ID on that day, we're screwed then lol

So OP can you tell us if there is a difference?

Thanks!

Hi,

The event is 21 age or over. Bring ID if you think you will be carded.
Red Media is a name of a PR Company and not a RFD thing. If you get a RSVP confirmation you will not be asked for ID at the door other then to verify age.

Thanks

i figure since its happening at a nite club thats why its 21. as for people not getting reply to RSVP i know this might be sounding like im insulting but perhaps it wnt into your junk/spam folder. finally i have gone on the facebook page and even asked re dress code and have not gotten a reply. now i would never think to show up in t shirt and shorts or ripped pants but do not want to have to wear bout shirt and tie or a suit and that sweater and nice pants would be good.

just got back from the party. I have to say, it was pretty damn good. I was fully planning on going after the auction, but it started filling up and picking up. Apparently after it was an H&M Fashion week afterparty.

It wasn't packed, but the beats were decent (alot of old school tracks) and we were having a good time.

I also expected a huge sausagefest, but there were alot of fine girls throughout the night, and a good number of them were pretty friendly.

Besides paying for drinks, it was a good cheap night.

I also won a free comic and a coupon for free popcorn.

Hi...this is my first post ever on RFD. Been a loyal follower but never signed up for the forum. Call me Lazy! But, I just signed up because i REALLY wanted to personally thank the OP and RFD for passing on this great party's info and the other OP who posted the Jaguar XJ party too. Great job guys!

Of course I RSVP'd early, the same day the post was done and got confirmation.

Just came back a couple of hours ago from the party with the wife. We had a great time and got the goody bag when I donated $10/- (It's all in good cause and the money goes to Charity according to them)

I asked the lady did all bags have the same stuff, she said no its mixed up, so you just get lucky (or unlucky...if you think so) with the stuff in your bag:

If anyone got the goody bag, can you please share with us what you got in it?

I got the following items:

- The Soloist T-Shirt (Black)
- About 4-5 Various discount coupons from different venues (some hot others not so hot...one of the nice ones was a Free Large Drink when you buy a Large Popcorn at Cineplex)
- A Dental Floss / Toothpick packet
- Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and The Soloist Bookmarks
- Couple of Star Trek (2009 version) Postcard-Sticker (I think?)
- A couple of colored pencils (Red/Blue and Rainbow Eraser) in a Transparent Pouch (promoting the movie ''Shorts'')
- ''The Princess and the Frog'' (new Disney animated movie) tarots cards game
- ''The Invention of Lying'' Band-Aid Pack with a purple plastic dispenser (with the line: ''The Truth Hurts!'' on the back...nice intentional pun)
- Can't remember the name of the movie printed on it...but it is a white wearable sun-protection plastic cap (the type where your head is in the open but only your forehead is shaded)
- This interesting fiction Hard-Cover Book ...can't remember Author (it says it retails for CA$ 26.99)
- A 2-Disc Documentary DVD from a Canadian Green activist / Scientist (I thinks his last name is Suzuki)

...Thats it. All that was in a nice Plastic bag with the poster of ''The Princess and the Frog'' printed on one side. The other side had the poster for ''A Christmas Carol'' (The new 2009 Animated one from Rob Zemeckis starring Jim Carrey)

As for the food, we had hostesses passing around with Sample trays...some had small Samosas (veggy kind and bit spicy), some were this nice creamy small pastry, some where Bread-crumb fried prawn on a stick, the bar had Big Samosas like the small ones. The tables were already packed by the time we got there at around 9:00 pm...and had some crackers...Packed Butter popcorn bags (sealed in ''Where the Wild things are'' poster bags). I was able to grab a couple of those popcorn bags.

Drinks were not free, unfortunately, but that is understandable.

DJ played some nice retro / R&B / Dance music...but few were dancing...maybe just shaking in their group huddles. ;)

The Silent Auction had some really cool stuff and some not so cool stuff. It was still going on when we arrived but closed maybe 15 minutes later.

Since we missed the beginning of the show because we were at the Jaguar XJ party at the time, did anyone go to this one from the start? Did they give anything extra?

Oh, someone gave me this Punisher special explicit edition comic...FREE. And when we entered they gave us ''Final Destination 3D'' Shot Glasses (which we could keep) but were filled with either Orange/Black jelly beans or M&M's.

The C-Lounge was MUCH smaller and much less elegant than the MUSIK Nightclub where the Jaguar XJ party was, but that is expected. That said, it had a nice atmosphere and the walls were covered with various upcoming movie posters. The people seemed to be having a lot of fun and there were some really hot chicks there...including my wife (Happy honey?)...something i too did not expect to see because i thought there would be more males than females but it was pretty balanced in that aspect.

We went dressed in Nightclub outing clothes. Classy but not too classy. Just nice shirt and pants, shoes...and coat of course.

Overall, we had a great time. So thanks again to the OP and RFD for this awesome double-bill evening!

(I will post my 2nd post about the Jaguar XJ launch party on that thread)

So how about you guys/girls, what did you get in your Good Bags (if you donated and got one) and did you enjoy the party as much as we did?

Regards,
Scorpionsy

i loved the food there...

The gift bags were awesome too. I picked up five of them. There were nowhere near 300 people in the club, and there were still a bunch of bags left to sell when I was leaving. I didn't see anything about screening passes, other than the ones attached to the Twilight book boxset. I ended up getting (in the bags) a couple nice t-shirts and a wackload of gift certificates to some restaurant called Rosewater. I also managed to win a Damned United poster signed by Michael Sheen.

The drinks were a bit expensive (the C Lounge website said there were supposed to be $3 drinks on Thursdays; guess not?), but the music was good, the women were (mostly) hot and the loot was plentiful. Can't ask for much more.

the lootbags had some of the same things, like the rosewater coupon, free large popcorn with drink purchase, certificate, pins, David Suzuki DVD etc.

My friend got thee best lootbag though, it had the transformers t-shirt, complete works of persepolis, and Zombieland hand sanitizer. All things that I would have rather had.

mine had an astroboy t-shirt, a land of the lost t-shirt, and some crappy white visor (along with all the coupons and whatnot.)

I got 2 bags - one for my boyfriend and I. They contained:

- The Stepfather t-Shirt, size L / his bag had Transformer t-shirt, size S
- Free Large Drink when you buy a Large Popcorn at Cineplex)
- BOGO coupon at Just Desserts
- free dessert with entree purchase coupon at Prime Steakhouse
- $25 off spa service at Windsor Arms Hotel (excluding massages)
- A Dental Floss / Toothpick packet
- Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and The Soloist Bookmarks
- Star Trek bumper sticker and Postcard-Sticker
- A ''Shorts'' beachball
- ''The Princess and the Frog'' (new Disney animated movie) tarot cards game
- ''The Invention of Lying'' Band-Aid Pack with a blue (his was green) plastic dispenser
- Mine had a Persepolis complete series graphic novel, soft cover, retail was $29.99
- His had a "Dance Flick" fitted baseball cap, size S (instead of a book, I guess)
- A 2-Disc Nature of Things DVD with 5 or 6 episodes on it
- A Metro newspaper pen
- A 'G-Force" trading cards pack
- Orphan button
- Zombieland hand sanitizer
- $50 gift certificate to Rosewater (can only use one per table, boo)

We also won free popcorn coupons + a comic book for answering a Scene It trivia question. I figure I can give a couple of the items from the gift bags as Christmas gifts, esp the book, DVD and Rosewater gift certificate. We only stayed for 1.5 hours. Food was good, drinks were $6 or $7. Didn't bid on any silent auction stuff. But it was fun. Thanks, OP!!

So how about you guys/girls, what did you get in your Good Bags (if you donated and got one) and did you enjoy the party as much as we did?

A lot of the gift bags had similar content. The unique items I received were:

Land of the Lost t-shirt (L)
The Stepfather t-shirt (L)
Orphan frisbee
The Shawshank Redemption 2-disc edition
David Suzuki's The Nature of Things (x4)
Persepolis graphic novel
Amazing Spider-Man comic books (I saw that a couple folks had Wolverine: Origin and Marvel Ultimatum books as well)
Zombieland hand sanitizer
Astro Boy t-shirt (L)

Didn't hear anything about screening passes, and didn't receive anything related to 2012 or Avatar (which was mentioned in the OP).

Thanks for sharing what was was in your goody bags, guys! So, it was like they said a mixed bag of things placed randomly in the bags. (i.e. the bigger items like the T-Shirts, books, DVDs etc.)

Yeah, I wish I got some of the stuff that came in your bags though. Oh, well it was a fun experience nonetheless.

Ok some random thoughts. I know this was charity event but they could of given one free ticket for one free drink and then after that charge. Also not enough seating. Plus they said there was a dress code and yet I saw some guests in t shirts, jeans and runners.

I got ther pretty close to the begining with a friend and we never heard or seeing anything re passes. Was able to purchase 2 goodie bags but the shirt in both were kiddie small. I went to where they sold the bags to see if I could exchange them cause they would not be appropiate even for kids to wear. One was for The Soloist and the other was for Stepfather. They would not. I guess i'll donate them to a charity auction I sometimes donate stuff to. The goodie bags were a good idea in theory but to be honest some of it seemed like it was stuff kicking around in storage. Could they not of gotten a few more recent items. Aside from the Stepfather t shirts it seemed like most stuff was either from Summer 09 or earlier. As for the coupons it seemed like most of those were no big deal and for places I would probably would never go to or could get to. All the food that came our way was either meat or seafood in it. My friend was vegatarian so basically she could only eat popcorn and pretzels. Some interesting things in charity auction but 2 big problems with it. Some of the items were autographed but the descriptions did not say who signed it which I think if they did they might of gotten higher bids. Also in past whenever I have experienced these to make it better basically it has the items on display and description and possible value and details re value. If you are interested you then get a pen and piece of paper fill out name, contact info and your bid and stick it in a box. That way bids our private but at this event they had clipboards where people would give names, contact info and bids where anyone could see and if you found something you wanted you could wait till the close or near close to the end of auction and swoop in and outbid others which I witnessed in a few cases. I know it seems like I did not have a fun time but it was pretty good and hope if these people do the event they will try to fix things so it might be even better next year.

Kalel,

Thanks for your feedback, but what other items did you get in your goody bags..what DVDs for example etc.

I agree with the Charity auction view you have. It makes it easy to outbid someone on the list...plus your personal info and contacts are out there for anyone to get.

Yeah, at least they could have given one free drink and the seating areas were already packed by time we got there.
