What program to use to edit .MOV files?

I just bought a Kodak Zi6 recently and the quality is amazing !
The thing about it is that it saves as a .MOV file, so I cant edit my videos with Windows Movie Maker or Sony Vegas. Im on Windows btw, but I do wish I'd have a Macbook as well lol.

Does anyone know a program which allows you edit .MOV files ?
I want to put a little movie together from my last family vacation.

If anyone can help, please let me know.

Thanks.

Just about any decent editing app should handle AVI, depending on the codec. MPEG4 would be relatively safe, as would DivX. You can keep the bit rate high enough during your conversion/editing so as to be essentially lossless, and then downsample the finished product based on your end usage.

Adobe Premiere Pro edits the .mov files from digital camera just fine. I've used it to edit video from my brothers Canon 5D MKII. Works great, just make sure have a strong computer if you're going to be editing 1080p content.

You should be able to get a 30 day trail from Adobe website if you wanted to try it. You'll also want Adobe Media Encoder CS4 if you can get it too.
