I have no idea of flights out of Vancouver, flew into Vancouver a couple times years ago chasing some tail.

It's hard to tell really. I guess you need to gauge your risk level and how good it would be saving a $100, or how bad it would suck that you spend $100 more. Last minute for me hasn't really worked out, and for the little bit of potential savings, it's simply not worth it to me anymore.

With tax, that's a pretty good deal. The cheapest I've ever seen tickets were for $1000, with a limit of 4 weeks stay during August about 1.5 years ago.

I bought my ticket with British Airways for Dec for 1300 including taxes, and still think that's a good deal.

Was this booked directly through the air canada website? A return flight would cost me ~$1700 using the website.

I plan on heading to Bangkok mid January and need to find a cheaper flight.

Where are you starting from?? From YEG (Edmonton) I got $1300 all in picking Jan 25 out and Feb 8th return, so op's $1118 from Vancouver is similar! Good deal!

I would buy it. The price could go up or down a bit but the sooner you buy the better choice of seats you will have. You will have to transit through either Hong Kong or Narita. I prefer HKG but the connection and arrival time to BKK are better through NRT. You will connect with United, ANA or Thai for the segment into BKK. I would try to get ANA or Thai. I have never flown with united but they use old planes there. Thai uses old 747s but I like the food and it gets you into a Thai mood.

Consider flying to Hong Kong, spend 3 days, ferry to Macau for another couple of days and take a cheap flight from there. Sort of like Ryan Air, Air Asia, or who ever else is doing discount flights. Makes for an interesting adventure. Good luck
