That's what I heard, too: the picture is definitely a G2 or greater one (side volume controls) which is like saying it's a G3 model... which is $70 cheaper than BB.

(it may only have OS 2.x on it, so if you want to upgrade to OS3.1, it'll be $10... unless you've already upgraded to OS3.x on another iTouch, and plug this one in, and it'll just upgrade it automatically.)

It's a standard OOS item listing that's designed to get StOOpleS a ton of hits from deal-hungry reprobates. The only problem is, that some DBA loaded thousands of items of "phantom stock" causing said deal-hungry reprobates to order en masse.

Plus, as StOOpleS charges your credit card immediately, then you have to call and force them to give you a refund - it is NOT automatic. I bet a certain percentage of people forget to call everytime this happens.

Have to phone a store and get them to check for you, if they feel like being helpful. But you can't believe what they see on the screen since it includes defective returns and demos. You then have to call the individual stores to confirm what they have, then ask them to hold for you.

I didn't bother calling, I just walked into Staples in downtown Edmonton. Asked the blueshirt if they still have the ipods in stock (I didn't tell them about the deal).

They have two, and a bunch of those black 8Gb nanos. I flashed them the print out on the website and they match the website price.

Note: these ipod's have speakers at the back, and a more tapered chrome backing, I presume these are the newer gen ones. NOT the old itouch's.

I didn't want to open them because they are not for me.

btw: long time leecher, first time poster. don't have a place to host images, I had my receipt scanned and couldn't post.

She sounded all happy and excited that Staples was doing me a favour by informing me my item could not ship. WTF...someone needs to smack her and wipe that excitement off her face. st00ples does not charge CC until ships, says so right in the FAQ. So you wont be charged

WEEEEE Just got home and excited. Went to University Stooples and the computer said they have 3, but to be honest, there was none. They were missing; an employee said. So then I went to Downtown Bestbuy and they said the model is different and said that they cannot do Pm. Thus I pretty much gave up. But I said what the heck, since futureshop is 3 minutes away from bestbuy, what the heck. So when I went there, I showed the page and futureshop employee was amazed at the price of the Staples Ipod Touch. So she and me went to discuss in to the manager and the manager gave a few calls, and there; thats my story. I successfully Pm from futureshop and got it for 140 including tax. Oh they gave me a second gen not the 3rd gen bluetooth one. So its YMMV. Cheers.

How will I know whether or not my order has been approved for credit and shipped?

When you place your order on the Internet, your credit card is not "billed" until your order is actually shipped from our warehouse. Most orders are approved for credit; if there are any problems, our credit department will attempt to get approval from your credit card provider first, without bothering you with a phone call. Otherwise, the credit department will call you and let you know as soon as possible so you can decide on another method of payment.

I am still waiting for either a cancellation or confirmation email. Order shows on my account but I am expecting it will be cancelled soon. I have no idea what they are waiting for!
I wish they would put me out of my misery... waiting... waiting...

Staples just sent me an email saying my order was on hold. I called and spoke to this dumb CSR named Lisa. She sounded all happy and excited that Staples was doing me a favour by informing me my item could not ship. WTF...someone needs to smack her and wipe that excitement off her face. Dumb ***** offered to ship the next generation touch to me instead, I asked if it would be the same price and shes like "Oh No, that one will cost more because it is a newer generation."

You need to chill the **** out, you got polite and accurate customer service regarding a clearance item.

I was in the Mall, and decided to check out Sears, and asked if they had iPods...

Needless to say, the only iPod they have, is an 80gb iPod Video from how many years ago, for $229.99

I chuckled. Wasn't planning on Price Matching, but that 80gb sounds nice after getting rid of my 30gb Video.

Don't like the new Classic's, I hate the split screen view/cover flow animation.

They may say that, and maybe it's a new policy, but Staples warehouse Mississauga definitely charged my cc in early July for my preorder - I just checked my cc statement, and there it was, as I'd remembered.

Picked up one brand new at the Sherwood Park Staples just east of Edmonton.

There is one open box one at the 50st Staples in Clareview as well. The screen is perfect but the back is scratched up pretty good. The store wouldn't discount for the condition at all.

I woke up to my cancellation email. Wow Staples sucks. They don't have to sell iPods for cheap, but to offer it and then claim that it's "discontinued" ...How can you have any respect for them.

What a laugh. I ordered a touch and nano and got the opposite effect! Touch cancelled, nano ordered for in store pickup. Sadly I lost my 20$ coupon.

mine was cancelled but still in order history, if you didn't recieve a confirmation email odds are its cancelled.
