Just bought a leather reclining love seat, regular $1,679 for $800 in Brampton.
Model - Tiago Black Reclining Loveseat

Did the usual walk around looking and trying all the sofas. Actually was not harassed by the sales people, they were two busy sitting a two separate kitchen tables have a "meeting" or gab session.

I then found some floor models, including the one I bought. It was marked down to $999. I ask if I could use my 25% off coupon the brick emailed me, but that was only valid on regular price stuff, I knew this but asked any ways. I looked some more and then the same salesmen ask what I was looking for. I said I like the reclining leather love seats but they are a bit out of my price range. He ask what I wanted to spend I said $800 tops. He said with or without tax, then, let me see what I can do. After about 3 minutes on the phone (who knows who) he said how's this, $800 plus tax for a new love seat not the floor model, I picked it up at the warehouse tonight.

So in the true spirt of RFD i share this to arm my fellow RFD'ers, they can sell a single love seat regular $1,679 for $800. I will remember this.

I can't believe people shop at the Brick.

Your shocked to find that a furniture store has 100%-200% markup, really?

Furniture stores have to have high markup because it is such low volume business.

If they only marked up by like 10% or 15% they would not be able to operate, unless it was out of a truck or something, in which case you could never look at anything.

I apologies your majesty. My post was for those of us that can not afford to buy more expensive Chinese made furniture.

I believe the purpose of these forums are to share our experiences and help each other save a much as possible. Exactly why I did not post this in the Hot Deal, rather Shopping Discussion.

If the Brick is so bad (and I know it is cheap furniture) where can I get a leather love seat for under $1K?

Try to provide some help or suggestions, rather than just be a hater.

Wait and see. I picked up a three seater reclining Home Theater style sofa for about $1200 all in. They were on sale at Sears for $4xx for left/right seats and $3xx for the middle seat, then I used a 25% off coupon that they were offering that specific weekend. Brought the price down to $3xx for the left/right and $2xx for the center.

You should always shop around when purchasing furniture. You have much more bargaining leverage at independent stores.

It's easy to find a leather love seat for under 1k, but you gotta do a bit of hunting :)
