Did these guys even report her to the police? Of course the police would never even bother I'm sure

Especially after having my car hit in a parking lot a few weeks ago, I would have went out and made a citizen's arrest I will tell you that much. $500+ damage on my car and my bumper will never be the same after being repainted, and the rehab that hit it obviously didn't stick around.

People like this need to be taken out of their cars and beaten severely; also their license should be suspended until they re-test and show they can actually drive.

Absolutely ridiculous. I dunno why the guys filming it think it's funny. I'm sure they wouldn't be laughing if it was their car getting hit. And they wouldn't be laughing if their wife, son, daugther, got in an accident on the road with a driver like this because they suck at driving... If the driver is that bad at parking, imagine how bad they are on the roads. Yet I'll bet they'll never get a ticket and have great insurance rates because they never break the speed limit

This is why our insurance rates are so high because of people like this!!!! We need some serious change in our licensing system here in Ontario. Tougher fines with street racing and speeding have helped but if ppl do not know how to drive!

That sucks - I hope they called the police for the sake of the owner of the Jeep that got scratched.

I know once I had my Corolla parked in a strip mall parking lot (i.e. LCBO, Subway, etc), and it was a bright day in May, no wind - empty parking lot - and a guy in an old green Grand Am was parked right beside my car with their door wide open.

They were parked on the other side of my car as I walked toward it - I looked at my passenger side door and found a ding & green paint.

I can understand someone bumping your car in a crowded parking lot/really windy day, but to park right beside someone when there's dozens of empty spaces and then hit their car?

Argh.

I witnessed something like this at Pmall .... it was so painful to watch, I got out and offered to park it for her ...

But seriously, how the heck do these people get their license? If she has no sense of space and is having a hard time pulling in a parking spot, how did she manage to do a parallel park which is what's required on the G2 exit test?

Did you end up parking it for her? Or was she stubborn and insisted on parking it herself?

2. What does wind have to do with parking?

On a windy day, you'll see the power of wind. I got a big dent on my when it was still a new car. I parked it far away from store entrance and spaces at both sides were empty when I parked. It was just a short 5 minutes into a Loblaws to get a To Go Meal.

It looks like downtown, against richmond or maybe adelaide. These guys probably don't drive and don't care. Doesn't make it right, and if it was me I would have written down her license plate and left a note on the jeeps windshield.

Easy, they have connections in the licensing system. That, and/or the Ontario government has (in the most stupid move they can make IMO) made it possible to GET A TRANSLATOR TO GET YOUR LICENSE. That's right folks, while the primary language and all of our signs are in english, you don't need to have any knowledge of this language to operate a motor vehicle in this Provence! Isn't it wonderful?

I got so frustrated by this post that I e-mailed a bunch of Ontario MPP's. Hopefully it'll make some sort of difference. If any of you agree, I encourage you to do the same. Here's a link to Ontario MPP contact information.

There is no excuse to commit a criminal offence (in this case vandalism). I hope people like you get caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

"Listen Corolla girl, I'm happy that you suck at driving and Imma let you finish, but X5 going over cars in the parking lot is the best parking of all time, of ALLLL time!"

Nice to know people are willing to commit criminal offences. /sarcasm
It's also a criminal offence to leave the scene of an accident (i.e. hit and run), though you might say this girl left her car there and didn't completely get away. Not saying two wrongs make a right either, but the girl did the same thing by hitting someone's car and then pretending like it never happened. In reality what will likely happen is the Jeep driver will get in their vehicle, and drive away. Unless they have a passenger they will likely not see the damage on the pax side rear end of the Jeep until later (and heck even some passengers don't care to see/notice/look at damages on someone else's car). Then the Jeep owner will notice the damage later not knowing how it got there but knowing it must have been done in a parking lot.

Girl may have committed a criminal offence as well. Of course we don't know what happened after the video ended which is why I say "may"... Maybe she went inside and tried to find out who the owner was, to tell them. I mean that's a longshot but we don't know for sure.

I find BMW drivers to be the worse. They have minimal skills usually, are in a posermobile, drive like idiots because they are in a "sportsedan". They think just because they are in a "high performance/sport car" that it automatically enhances their driving skills and is a green light to drive like a maniac.

I'll safely assume that the black Jeep driver is even worst. And I'm glad it got scratched. No one mentions how badly it was parked. It was parked diagonally with the the right rear on the yellow line, not leaving much space for the other car. Seriously, if you park like that black Jeep, you shouldn't be surprised to see your car get scratched. You deserve it.

Lol ok. Between my family members we driven around 250k combined (there's 3 of us) and I assure you - bad car drivers aren't necessarily tied to a model. Yes, that specific Corolla driver, and DEFINITELY that X5 driver are.. well.. terrible. But you'll also find M3 drivers that suck, VW drivers that suck (I know one).. and so on. See I personally drive a Corolla (not that year, lol, 2003, 2nd newest design - sorry folks :P), and I have never been hit, and I, on a day-to-day basis avoid at least one accident a day..

I honestly think that the licensing needs to be a lot harsher here. I've actually seen someone stop at the red, and then continue through the intersection on University St - What the hell is that?. Ooh and yesterday, I had someone go into the left turn lane, and when I was ~6m behind them - going 60, they decided to go from the left lane, to the very right lane (so a double lane change), with NO signaling, no looking (obviously).. yeah. Oh, curious, does anyone get as mad as I do when people don't indicate?

I don't know who's right or who's wrong.

To be honest, I think the jeep deserved the scratch on his car.. but the lady in the corolla should be fined as well. I personally don't consider myself a very skilled driver, but I do back out again if my car is parked in a weird way. How hard is it to back out and make your car straight and park properly ? It just takes less than a minute of your time.

As for the corolla girl.. I personally won't even park at a car that is in a weird position. Even if I drive a crap box that's is all rusted.

I've seen different ethnic people driving all different types of car with bad driving habits. It's not just all asian or white or black. You have to know that in every culture there is the bad a the good.

 Yes the typical bullcrap scapegoating as taught by the government. Safely assume  Yeah, it can't possibly be the driver's fault for HITTING ANOTHER OBJECT with the car they were in control of, can it? Oh no of course not! It's someone else's fault entirely

Disgusting, moronic statements like the above only serve as an explanation for why our roads are so dangerous. Just get on the road without having a clue how to drive, when something goes wrong blame it on someone else. Heaven forbid you should take your safety, the safety of your loved ones, and the safety of everyone else out there seriously and take repsonsibility by fessing up, paying for the damage, and/or removing yourself from the road until you know how to drive.

I guess if the driver hit a pole or other object, you would be blaming the placement of that object instead of the driver right? Always someoone/something else to blame other than the person CONTROLLING the thing that is actually moving (the vehicle), right???

The Jeep being parked on an angle is neither here nor there. First off it's within the parking boundaries; secondly, even if it were not, it should not have been hit. Why? I'll tell you why. Because...

YOU DO NOT GO AROUND HITTING OTHER THINGS (ANY OTHER THINGS) WITH THE CAR YOU ARE DRIVING, PERIOD.

WTF is wrong with people? Honestly. Every ($%*ing excuse in the book as to why you shouldn't need to know how to drive in order to actually get on the road and start driving  When you get in a car and start moving thousands of pounds of metal, glass and plastic via your driving you have a very large responsibility to be able to do that properly and act with due regard to the safety of yourself and others. If you are incapable of doing this GET OFF THE ROAD (and out of the parking lots too). I'm just about sick and tired of seeing the bull(%!# excuses already.

Listen PAL, you're justifying the action of keying/damaging someone cars if their car scratches your car while parking.

The damages might be the same but that does not mean the actions are equally wrong. The motives and intention behind the actions play another game. Keep that kind of talking to the judge and let he/she rip you another hole.

Btw, i'm the one that damage your car. Meet me at Finch and Jane RIGHT NOW and settle this. LOL you sound like a freaking kid got bullied for candies.

I assert that BMW drivers have a predisposition to be bad drivers and disregard others on the road because they think their "sportscar/sedan" automatically means they are able to drive more aggressively.

Yes the Jeep parked like a putz but this woman is clearly clueless when it comes to driving. She isn't driving a Hummer. It's a sub-compact that she couldn't even park despite the fact there was ample space even with the Jeep parked so close to the yellow line. Drivers like her should be off the road. How she passed her driving test is beyond me considering this is the most basic maneuver any driver should be able to perform. Take TTC next time.

Is it that time of the month???

Listen PAL, you're justifying the action of keying/damaging someone cars if their car scratches your car while parking.
I'm not your pal #1; #2 I did no such thing. Learn how to read. All I said was to the guy (not to you) that when he was saying keying someone's car is criminal (it is and I do NOT condone it), that hitting someone's car is certainly just as bad (it IS). Now I realise you will probably still not understand this because you can't read but that's your problem at this point.

The damages might be the same but that does not mean the actions are equally wrong.
They are both criminal offences, Failure to Remain and Mischief.

The motives and intention behind the actions play another game. Keep that kind of talking to the judge and let he/she rip you another hole.
What are you on about? What judge? Huh? Get a clue maybe???

Btw, i'm the one that damage your car. Meet me at Finch and Jane RIGHT NOW and settle this. LOL you sound like a freaking kid got bullied for candies.

Shiet happens, we dont live in an ideal/perfect world. I was in your shoes back in HS. I got over it and marked this kind of incidences as cost of living.
Thanks Captain Obvious. However this has nothing to do with the fact that hitting someone's car and then leaving is a criminal offence, does it. People get murdered too, and no one sticks around to fess up or get caught. Does that make it anymore right? Should we all just shrug and say stupid moronic nonsense like "shiet happens" like some kind of fool?

How about a nice big serving of Personal Responsibility on the part of these people, and none of the retribution talk would be necessary.

ES_R is right - its always someone else's fault which is BS. If the person who drove the Jeep had parked right, if the Corolla girl knew how to drive, if the government had stricter driving tests, etc, etc, etc.

IF we all had a moral compass that didn't allow this sort of behavior, what good would an iPhone be?

Even the best drivers will suffer a drop in their IQ from driving one of those!

I mean, I could be wrong; after all I drive a Corolla, so I must be totally ******** for purchasing a car that I've driven for over 300,000 km, and that
doesn't use too much gasoline.

Please let me know what kind of car I should be driving, so that I can be an extremely good driver and genius like yourself - thanks!

+1.

I'm also a Corolla driver and I'm sorry, but where the stupidity in a Corolla? They're fuel efficient, reliable, fairly safe, roomy, and honestly that description is exactly what I need for my daily commute.

I'm sorry but connecting a car with skills and intelligence is beyond unjustified. Skills and intelligence are a measure of the driver, not the car. I drive over 60,000 km a year, and I have saved my life a million times because of idiots driving cars from Corolla to Beamer to Porsche to.. you get the point.

Now please avoid unnecessary comments. These is an excellent forum and filth like you ruins the atmosphere.

Saw something similar in my condo garage recently.
This asian-looking lady was trying to pull into her spot and drove right into the concrete pillar next to her spot.

Oops.

She was in a Subaru Impreza hatch, btw.

This sort of BS is why I generally go out on weekdays when it's less busy and park FAR back in the parking lot where other cars are not parking. I had a discussion about this with my mother and she was saying that she wouldn't even drive a car where she was so worried about it that a parking lot bump would bother her. The VERY SAME DAY she was the victim of a small hit & run in the grocery store parking lot. Guess who was there applying touch up paint to her bumper...

There's another video in related videos that says Indian Woman Driving in Toronto.

I saw a woman yesterday at Bramalea City in the same van (Sienna) trying to park. She held people up for around 15 minutes because she wasn't able to reverse into her parking. She had no idea which way to turn her steering, how to maneuver the vehicle etc.

I don't get how people who are new to the country can get licenses? Surely she had to demonstrate parking in order to get her license? And what about common sense? She had children in the car. If she doesn't know how to drive properly, is it really a good idea to have her kids in the car?

I know the Jeep wasnt parked exactly the best but regardless, she made it harder than it needed to be. Could have parked in the bigger space to the right or just have made a wider turn inside the parking spot.

But we all know she couldn't drive a lick. Along with the Toyota Sienna fail, I have no clue where and how they got their licenses...I mean how hard is it to park? How hard is it to reverse out of a parking space? This is basic stuff!!!

I do not agree "she was not at fault"
This incident should have never occurred at all. Because a) she only had G1 and b) her insurance was canceled.

Although I do agree a jail sentence is not the right answer, neither is no driving for only three years.

First of all during those 3 years, 6 months will be spent doing house arrest. So realistically it is a 2.5 years to no driving. And secondly her insurance was canceled because of too many 'at fault accidents'. Which only demonstrates she is incapable behind the wheel. This incident should have convinced the courts to prohibit her from never driving again. Judge was too soft.

lol at some of the responses.

Not all corolla drivers are bad. But corolla is

a) very cheap, thus;
b) more of them on the road

Therefore it increases the likelihood of seeing bad drivers. And reason being why the corolla is bashed on RFD so often.

The thing is this, if you buy a rubbish car, what you are saying is "I have no interest in cars" If you have no interest in cars you have no interest in driving. And if you have no interest in something it means you are no good at it, which means you must have your driving license taking away. -Jeremy Clarkson

Haha wow that was a flaky response, need a lot more of it ha..

You know cars cost money.. Corollas offer high fuel economy (save money), high reliability (save money), and low initial cost (save money). So yes, saving money is stupid? Corollas and like cars are designed with the intent of saving money, so if your theory were true it would probably have to add the reason for the purchase of the cheaper car.

If you have money, but just don't care about cars, then maybe your interest in improving your driving abilities would be lower, so I can see the idea there.

But if you're buying a budget car because you're at.. oh.. I don't know, school.. then your abilities as a driver may even be improved as you're learning the habits of driving at a younger age (this is more tied to students who 'pay their own way', not those who are given everything).

And yeah.. I don't care to talk any longer. Stop insulting drivers due to car..at least get the reason first.

Do people tend to throw pennies on the floor around you by any chance?

What is life worth, if you cant enjoy driving? or many of the other small pleasures which might take a financial commitment, small or large, but you get so much enjoyment out of it, that in the end, it really doesnt matter what you've spent on it. Take RC helicpters for example, people spend thousands upon thousands on the hobby, but the enjoyment they get out of it is tenfold, its completely worth it to them. Using your rationale, we'd still be throwing around paper airplanes and drawing on cave walls just to save a buck.

The same reasoning applies to everything, im sure you're saving up for something you dont 100% need, but the satisfaccion you get out of it is worth it. Maybe cars arent you're thing (obviously), maybe you love to read and build little model ships in wine bottles, and if you did, you would definitively fit a stereotype. This same stereotyping can be used for people who drive certain types of cars, and those certain people tend to lack certain skills. So dont be insulted if you're stereotyped, it is what it is.

Ha.. wow. Umm where to begin.

So you really don't know many people clearly, because (for most people, not you, 'your highness'?) when you like something (like RC helicopters, for example), you work within what you can afford at the time. You start out with a budget set, then upgrade, upgrade, upgrade. It's how life works, you afford what you can afford of what you like, and when you can then you upgrade..

Like I'm sorry but are you suggesting that for your first car you should go out and buy a Nissan GTR, Saleen S7, etc? What the hell, ok you may have been a spoiled child, but there are many of those who are not..

I am very into cars, but that's irrelevant as I was simply making a point, you see typically with a degree comes a better job, and with a better job comes the ability to afford a lifestyle that you may desire upon what you already have, so an affordable car that won't cost you thousands of dollars to keep running helps you achieve your greater goals sooner.

Your outlook simply doesn't make sense (unless, yes, you're parents are loaded and cost of living has never occurred to you). Without money you can't afford the things you love (if they cost money), so a budget car that is reliable so you can save for the car that you ACTUALLY want makes sense....

Oh, and as per this stereotype, it's more that SUV drivers can't drive.. not light cars - but hey, why would a fellow like you know this, living in a palace and all.

How do these people get licensed? Last time I checked you had to pass two road tests. And they aren't totally easy (not hard however if your a crap driver you can't pass them).
