Hey guys, so I currently just opened a paypal account and to send funds it takes 5 business days to confirm my bank and another 6 days to send money over... and I need to purchase an item from Ebay.

I messaged the seller and he said EMT payments are not allowed on Ebay but we could do the transaction outside Ebay. His rating is currently 100% (2 votes). Just wondering if there is a way to take back payment if the transaction turns out to be fake..

Thanks for your time!

No, once EMT is cleared, no way to reverse.

I've accepted EMT payments from people, it is a huge trust thing, I've always sent out the item, however you just never know, and since it is only 2 feedback points vs mine at 90+, use caution

Actually you can pay for an eBay purchase with virtually any method of payment from cash to money order to EMT. It is allowed by eBay. Paypal of course is the safest because at least you have a chance of getting your money back if the deal goes south.

Most people are confused because under eBay rules the seller cannot list in his auction or in any way ask a buyer to pay by any method other than those authorized (pretty much just Paypal) BUT the buyer is free to ask the seller if he will accept an alternate method of payment and if he agrees then the transaction can be processed that way. So, you can pay for a purchase by money order, but only if you make the request first and the seller agrees. Of course with these alternate methods of payment you have no buyer protection.

...at least you have a chance of getting your money back if the deal goes south....
That chance has dwindled from a remote possibility to a no chance in hell-if the payer is a scammer.
