NEW RULES FOR THIS THREAD

Guys, its getting harder and harder to figure out what names to put onto what the lists on the first page through this thread. Lots of "anyone interested in", or "would be interested if..."

I will now only be adding names to the lists on the front page if you state

Please add me to xxx, xxx, xxx games..

INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO GAMESHARE

1. 1 person needs to take lead on this. They typically PM 4 other members to ensure they are still interested in the game.

2. The lead then has the other 4 members send payment up front for the game through paypal (this means the total cost of the game (cost + any taxes divided by 5). The other members need to send the payment as a Personal Transaction/Gift (this way no paypal fee's are deducted).

3. When all payments have been received the lead creates a new user on his PS3. After that you sign up for a new PSN id through the PSN store. You then proceed to purchase the game on credit card or by gamecard (keep in mind if you use a gamecard if there is any balance left over it can only be used on that same account). If you have paid by credit card when the purchase is complete you need to go into the billing section (not sure exact menus as I'm not in front of my PS3) and delete your billing information before sharing the login info to the others.

4. When all the above is complete the lead would PM the PSN account info to the other 4 members of the group.

5. When you receive gameshare info the other members would then create a new PSN user and then login to the PSN store with the account info provided. You can call the new PSN "User" account whatever you want. Go into the recently downloaded items icon (top right in the PSN store) and download/install the game. PM back the lead when the game has been downloaded and installed successfully.

ITEMS TO KEEP IN MIND
You must keep the PSN profile that was created on your system. As soon as the game is installed you can switch back to your primary profile and the game will still show up. If you delete the profile the game will either disappear or it will not work when you try to run it.

ALWAYS create a new PSN ID for each new gameshare unless you are sharing games with the exact same 5 people. If you try to share out another game on a previous ID only the previous 5 people that downloaded off that ID would be able to download/grab the game.

After you have purchased a game please be sure to remove the billing information (you can delete it)

Leading a gameshare is not difficult. In reality everyone that signs up should be willing to host at least one gameshare. Lets clean up that front page list.

Instead of doing a monthly thing, we can all agree on, say, 5 games, and do ONE big group purchase, and then we would not need to have more accounts. Me personally, I do not even have 16 games I want, but for the sake of clutter, i wouldnt mind having minimal accounts n my ps3. As for collecting the money for the psn leader, I think it makes sense for them to collect the funds first and then pay, so they dont get screwed over ( i think thats why there is a delay in "trine"). All we can ask is that these RFD users check their account in a timely manner so they know the game share is ready and we can complete it fast.

Maybe it can be done like this... create one account for DLC only
1 account for games only. We can have 1 person being the admin for 1 month
and then the next person gets the admin. The admin can decide what to get and whoever wants it pays before the admin purchases it. Maybe we can have like 2 or 3 admins @ most.

Again, this is just an idea. I am not interested in all the things on the psn, just a few of the games and dlc mostly.

that measn the 5 guys that bought ratchet have it linked to their console. Now how PSN works is you can put an account on as many consoles as you want and get free content like demos but for premium content it can only be linked to 5 consoles. So the people involved inthe ratchet buy didn't unregistered their console with this account


There's a common misconception that it's 5 accounts per game but it's actually 5 consoles to the entirety of the premium content

Yup. So you either have to get everyone to deactivate their PS3 from that account (which means they can't use that content anymore) or use a new account. Unless you are doing long-term gameshares, new accounts are the way to go.

I had this happen one day and I was wonder wtf, that makes no sense. Then I remembered that I had my PC running with some torrents. After stopping the torrents I was able to access the PSN store.

So basically you will get a misleading 'this service is not available in your country/region' error even if it is just a general connection error.

Right sending as a gift lets the receiver get the entire amount with no fees.

Sending as a gift incurs no fee's if you hold a current paypal balance.

Guys, please keep me updated when the gameshares are complete. Also if a full group is up for too long with no one taking lead (ie DJ Hero), I am going to remove it from the list or put it in complete and you can get it figured out after the fact. Doesn't make sense having a complete list of people in here if no one is going to take the lead on a game. Its not that difficult of a thing to do and everyone that is signing up should expect that they might have to take a turn leading..


On a high note, looks like the group gameshare is full so we can hopefully knock that one off today. Also Madden Arcade is out and I would love to grab it. We need a couple more sign ups now that viper is too impatient :lol:

Not sure on this but if he sends an invoice there is then no way to send the paypal payment as a "gift" hence you would get hit with paypal fee's?

All the gameshares I have done, I have just provided my paypal address through PM with the total amount and directions to send the payment as a gift. Has worked well each time.

The DLC should be region restricted. Try downloading a free North American skin and seeing if it works. It probably won't (I use the European version and this is the case).

You have to keep the user as well, if you delete the user you lose everything tied to it

Looks like we are going to have a problem with Burn Zombie Burn…the captain bought it on a PSN account that had already had a GS on it (ratchet and clank) so there is already 5 users activated for that PSN account, meaning us 5 that want burn zombie burn cannot activate. Honest mistake though.

Process is fairly simple. Collect paypal or whatever method of payment from the other users. Create a new playstation profile (name it whatever you want), then create a new store user through that account. Purchase the game and then go into your account information and clear the billing info for that user after it has been purchased. Then email out the login info for the playstation store account you just setup.

From what i read if u do get the DLC from PSN u will need the original GTA 4, if u get the actual cd then u dont need the original. And yes it will have both episodes.

I tried logging in and download the full game, only to be greeted by a message telling me it has already been activated on another 5 PS3 systems :mad:

its best to receive payment first from everyone before sharing the information. PSN only allows one login at a time. Thought I should be more in debt with my answer. All 4 can download at the same time but each must login one at a time to 'start' the downloads, at which point they can sign out of PSN and the downloads will continue while letting others start.

Hey guys, one quick question on Gameshares. Does each account activation count per ps3 with your login info or with each console downloading the game?

What i means is

Console 1 - Downloads game
Console 2 - Downloads game
Console 3 - Downloads game
Console 4 - Downloads game
Console 5 - Downloads game
Console 6 - Just has login info but doesnt download the game (same login info as Console 1)
Console 7 - Just has login info but doesnt download the game (same login info as Console 1)

We did a gameshare between us and we have since got a few more PS3s. However we are reluctant to put our login info on our new ones so as not to ruin our gameshares on the ones we use for gaming (the new ones are for media and a rare game on buzz for example).

No. You can't "cancel" an activation without actually deactivating the system from the account. (Which is not something that you'll do by accident.)

gamesharing is very very easy.. and u pay 20% of the cost of the price on the PSN.. amazing if u ask me..

all u have to do is get ur 5 ppl, set up a new account and a new user on ur ps3 and thats it.. takes 2 min really...

too bad ive reached my maximum number of user accounts (16) and cant do anymore gameshares :(
