My current insurer(statefarm namely) is charging me 132$/month, and it's a 3rd liability only. It used to be good around 100$/month but recently they've hiked the premium crazily.
I wanna switch to an insurance company with less than 100$/month premium and I don't mind if they r anal toward claims or not. never claimed anything for the past 10 years (in case an accident at my fault, I will fxxxing hit&run,, kidding!!!), I want a CHEAP alternative! period!
never had any trafic tickets for the past 10 years, 0 accidents involved, only 2 parking tickets. (not to brab, but a MofF)
I've heard the premium is like 150$/year in Quebec, true?!!goddamnt, craving for a moving....

Quebec is cheaper, but not to the extent of 150$/ year.
Just to give you an example, I was insured my old 2001 car for 62$ a month in Montreal West-island and once moved to Mississauga, it jacked to 128$ a month. ;)
Get a broker and they will shop for the best pricing for you, especially when you combine home and car insurance together.

I've also been with statefarm for quit a while now, and they've hiked my rate by $30. I agree the best way is to get quotes from other insurance companies. I might have to start looking sooner rather than later as my policy renews in January, and god only knows if there's going to be another hike coming up then. I am also thinking of playing with my options since i have a full coverage. I might drop my comprehensive/collision and liability coverage which is more like one way coverage. I might go that route. But since winters coming i am not sure. Looking around these forums i've read that Belair, TD, Johanson could be worth checking. Best way is to call them up, and deal with them directly instead of involving middleman such as brokers, and sites such as kinetex.ca which will take there cut. Although, those options could work in your favor also. Good luck let me know how it goes.

Install 4 new winter tires. Drop collision, reduce deductables. etc. Self insure!;)

In Quebec, I am paying $102 per year for my old 1996 Corolla for liability only
I am paying $592 per year for a brand new 2009 Corolla for a full protection.
I believe it is much cheaper in Quebec because the car insurance only covers material damage only, the human injuries are covered by the government through a non-fault system that everyone pays when they renew their plates and driving permits
I believe in Ontario, the system is different. If you get injured in an accident, you can sue the other person's car insurance to cover your medical expenses such as physiotherapy etc.
can anyone confirm that?
In Quebec, the plate for a car is $260 per year
the regular automobile driving permit cost $72 per year if you have no demerits. It costs exponentially more as your demerits increases.

Call some local brokers - they will go over what your needs are.
