Any help would be appreciated. The SD card is not compatible with my computer.

Doesn't exist, the biggest microSD or SD cards are 4GB and they do some funny magic to make it work beyond spec.
all 8GB cards are microSDHC/SDHC.

If the SDHC cards are compatible with your camera , phone or whatever it is you are using it in perhaps all you need is a USB cardreader like this one so you can use them in your computer.
