Not too shocking I suppose. All the networks covered a story about Russia experimenting with reducing the annual snowfall amounts in and around Moscow and St Petersburg IIRC.

Beijing seeded clouds to keep dust down in preparation for their Olympics. There was already outcry from neighbouring provinces that rainfall decreased as a result and hurt their crops & water levels.

You've honestly never heard of this? We've been doing this for over 50 years. The process has changed, but it's still based on work done in the 40s.

The Chinese government did it during the Olympics and during the recent Oct 1st celebration for China's 60th anniversary. Outdoor activities such as parades cannot be performed while it is raining, so cloud seeding is performed to make it rain prior to the event.

It's funny that when the western world develops a technology, there is no problem. But later when a developing country develops the same technology, people are easy to give criticisms. For example: 30 years ago, the US developed a ground-to-air missile that can destroy an orbiting satellites and nobody said anything. A few years ago, China develops the same technology and people said China have no rights to possess that same ability.

I'm in Beijing right now and I was pretty surprised when it started snowing Sunday morning. The government originally seeded the clouds to cause rain to ease drought in the north of the country, but the weather dropped to the negatives at night and the rain turned into snow. It did rain all day Saturday though.

To all those that think the Chinese are crazy for saying they caused snow, they did play a part in it by seeding the clouds, countries all over do it, Malaysia in particular does it cause they have drought in the landlocked part of the country. While I don't think ****ing around with the weather is correct, I don't think China should be crucified for doing something Western countries have done before in the past.

Don't think you read the posts right. Contrails and chemtrails are two different things. Contrails are just regular jet exhaust, they dissappear after a few minutes.

I dunno for certain what the hell chemtrails do, from everything I've read though, weather manipulation is the most likely thing.
