A few years too late, but anyone know the best price for Freakonomics alongside with the location?

Looking to keep it downtown Toronto.

Thanks!

A bit off-topic, but are you aware that the sequel (http://www.superfreakonomicsbook.com/) was just released? That may also mean that you'll be able to find copies of the original in remainder bins and/or used book stores.

Saw the softcover version last time I went to costco for under $8.

Try the library.. It's a pretty easy read and gets quite repetitive.. Definitely not a keeper after you've read it.

I doubt I'd be able to read it within a 3-week period...despite the option to renewal.

Yeah, heard about it - hence why I want to read the first part before moving on. Thanks, but do you know any good used book-stores?

I no longer live in Tronno but when I did there were a couple on Bloor west of Bathurst. (One was Book City IIRC.) There are also some near Spadina and Harbord.

Another alternative, especially since you intend to buy the sequel, is BitTorrent.

LOL, yeah I would but I want to read this on the GO (45 minutes, twice a day) so it'd be better just to pay for it - ideally looking for < $15.

I'm going to check those two book-stores on Yonge, just before Dundas by the end of the week.

The copies on BT are PDFs so most PDAs, smartphones, netbooks, etc. will display them just fine.

BTW in the same genre are The Underground Economist and The Logic of Life by Tim Harford (http://timharford.com/). I enjoyed them as much or more as Freakonomics.

BMV has locations around Toronto, gently used (often new) books. I don't think I've seen Freakonomics in my travels there.

i would sell you my copy, but no idea where it is.

Does anyone know if the World's Biggest Bookstore, off Yonge, sell used copies?

World's Biggest Book store is owned by Chapters/Indigo and only sells new books. That said, there is a decent BMV next door which sells used books.

I have a copy I'd sell you for $5. Hardcover, but the sleeve is missing, so it's plan white with the name/authors in metallic green on the spine. PM me if interested, I work downtown.

World's biggest bookstore (is it actually?) has a BMV right next to it that sells used books. BMV is sortuva garage-sale affair so you may get lucky there.

Saw it for $15 at my school's bookstore.

But bought the sequel SuperFreakonomics for $17+tax with the 25% off coupon posted in the Hot Deals. Marked down from $36.99.

I think I saw softcover at Costco - $11.99 (Markham). This was about a month or two back.

Picked it up from Costco for ~$10 a few months ago. Dunno if it's still there.

Thanks for all the help everyone!
I went to Costco, couldn't find - they did however have a few copies of the new one.
Thankfully, Chapters was nearby - went there, picked up a paper-back edition for about $16 after tax....good-bye Metro!
