Really? I had one of those (paid a $0 fine but was convicted) and I never saw it show up on mine. This was some years ago now though, was it changed?

Interesting, why would insurance companies care about the 'not carrying proof of ' convictions?

He's right. I just saw an abstract and it had a insurance item on it

I see them all the time on there. Its a minor conviction.

Any update on this? Will a "Fail to Display Two Plates" ticket appear on your abstract? If it does, any idea on how insurance companies look at this... increase rates, etc.?

To raise your rates and milk you even more.

its quite possible if its there, it will be rated as a minor conviction. some companies don't charge for 1 minor whereas others may. best thing would be to pull your own drivers abstract and see if its there.

Not my abstract, just asking the question - but thanks. Given a clean record with only this on it, would a 10-15% annual increase be reasonable?

no idea, depends on the company...sometimes they just remove the claims free discount if you have 1, some companies will charge up to 20% for 2 minors..
