Wondering if someone can recommend a Mason in the Toronto area that they've had a good experience with .
Thanks!

Thanks Telman
I actually went to Homestars first. Unfortunately, I found someone who ended up being a nightmare to deal with.
I might go back there and try someone else but just thought I'd give this a try.

We recently used Red Robin Home Solutions (http://www.redrobinhomesolutions.com/) to do some masonry work for us and we were very pleased. Very professional work and very pleasant to deal with.

Homestars is not trustworthy. It isn't like Trip advisor where anyone can post any opinion. They tightly censor the opinions there and make it very difficult to post negative reviews.

The masons on HomeStars I think are decent, although I suspect overworked.
And I'm surprised at the response that it's hard to post negative reviews. There are tons and tons of negative reviews on the site. Ya, you can't post on no-shows (which is an issue) but there's now a no-show thread in the forums.

I dealt with Wayne from www.thebrick.ca - his contact information is:
Haroutunian Masonry Ltd
(416) 823-3787 cell (Wayne's direct line).
Now this was a few year's ago, but I was actually very surprised and impressed. His quote was actually the lowest, he was doing the most work in rebuilding a portion of our chimney AND he came with a sheet of paper with 3 recent contacts for work he did willing to vouch for him and for me to come by and see the work. I drove by 2 of them that were near by and it seemed pretty good. After he was done the work, a few weeks later, he called me to ask if someone could come by and see the work he did and possibly contact me. I said sure since the person actually lived on our street. Anyways, his work was good and fair. My aunts actually tried to get him to fix her's in Markham, but he lives in Georgetown (I think) and Markham was a little too far for him. If you're on the west side of the GTA, hopefully he can help. Although, I know at this time of year, it's hard for them because if the cement cures too quickly, it won't last. (if it's outdoors that is)
