Hello every1 ,..am looking to go on vacation with my family on December 24th 09 for 7 days . Can any1 help me where I can get a good rate for a 4 star hotel. Do you think prices will climb higher even though we are in some type of recession. should I simply buy the tickets now or still wait cause they will get cheaper ,....let me know what u think

I did a trip over Christmas a couple of years back at Puerta Plata. All honestl, I booked at about this time. There are amazing deals to be had but you gotta be quick. For example there were some 4 star places going for $800 all in with taxes but I delayed and lost it. Saw one 3 1/2 for about $800 delayed and missed it. Ended up paying $1100 for the same one. So do your research, know the ones you're considering and check on Tripadvisor for reviews. When you see it and it's in your price range, book it and don't look back. There may always be cheaper but there will always be more expensive too. If you want to feel good, when you get there talk to some Europeans and see how much they paid.. .Ouch.
Now each resort offers you different things. It all depends on what you're looking for. In Puerto Plata youre most likely in the area with all with resorts sort of along teh beach. You can walk the beach all along and "check out" other resorts. Soem may kick you out if you have the wrong wrist band I found. Best of luck. But yeah, if it's under $1000 for a 4 Star I'd say act quick unless you want to risk it.

it's actually more like 1450$ and 2 weeks a go it was 1300 but iam wondering if they are not simply playing with our minds to rush us to buy then at the end give it out for a lot less
thank s for al lthe advise though

Yeah, it's $1300-$1400 so what i"m saying is if you find one that pops up for under $1000. Jump on it.
