Dell - Good deal or not?

Hi,

Need a new computer. Do mostly iTunes, internet browsing, large excel spreadsheets, Quicken (>15 years of data, huge).

Also like to have all the above open at the same time to flip between them.

Currently using an 5 year old computer with XP and 1.5GB RAM.

I have always bought locally, but now see that big retailers (Dell, Bestbuy, etc) can sell some pretty loaded computers for way less then I can get it built.

So . . . is the following a good deal for what I require:
(have it sitting in my Dell Cart at $759- $160 - $599. (-$50 if I pay with PayPal) = $549.)

Inspiron 545 MT Inspiron 545 Minitower w/ Black Bezel
Operating System Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English
Processor Intel® Core™ 2 Quad Q8300 (4MB L2, 2.5GHz, 1333FSB)
Memory 6GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz - 4 DIMMs
Keyboard Dell USB Entry Keyboard
Video Card Integrated Intel® GMA 3100 Graphics
Hard Drive 320GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache™
Color Bezels Piano Black
Media Card Reader No Floppy Drive or Media Card Reader Included
Mouse Dell USB Optical Mouse
Network Card Integrated 10/100 Ethernet
Optical Drive 16X DVD+/-RW Drive
Sound Card Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio
Service 1 Year Limited Hardware Warranty with In Home Service after Remote Diagnosis
Direct Line Dell Online Backup 2GB for 1 year

Local storage is not an issue as I have about 3TB or shared network storage I use at home.

I am not in a rush, but would like it sooner then much later. I have looked at Bestbuy and Futureshop for potential HP's. We use HP in the office and they are reliable corporate servers. But not sure if retail line is as good. Or better/worse then Dell.

I also have usually bought AMD. So would easily go AMD if the price was better.

Thanks for any recommendations or assistance.

I don't think it's a good deal.

for "iTunes, internet browsing, large excel spreadsheets, Quicken", any modern computer can do it.

like the $160 one from tigerdirect, the $299 one from BB BD sale. the $349 one, $399one ......

However, this is a quad core system with 6gbs of ram...this probably has better specs than the other comps.

With Dell.ca and their free ground shipping, how long will it normally take for a netbook order to ship to B.C.?
