*NEW* PS3 Long Term GameShare *FULL*

Hey guys, I'm looking for some members to start a new Long Term GameShare. I just bought my PS3 a couple weeks ago, so I haven't purchased anything yet. It'll be great if I can find some members in the same situation, so we can start fresh and get all the must-have games together!

This GameShare will focus on newer games and not stuff like PSone games (just get a PSone for like $20, if you really want to play them). I'm thinking about PSN exclusive games or games that have been updated to HD, like Marvel vs. Capcom 2, TMNT Reshelled or Super Street Fighter HD Remix. Add-ons will be considered if all the members have the game, otherwise the member without the game will have no use for the add-ons.

Here is how it works (stolen from the other thread :D):


(1) 5 People agree to split the purchase of a game together. One member collects all the fees, we'll call him the Gameshare Captain (GSC).

(2) The Gameshare captain collects all fees (COST OF GAME + TAXES divided by 5) Fees are sent by members to the GSC as a PERSONAL TRANSACTION - GIFT through Paypal.

(3) Once the GSC receives and confirms everyones funds. He creates a NEW USER on his PS3. He then signs up for a NEW PSN ID. He then purchases the game using his credit card OR pre-paid PSN card. (If CC is used, the GSC must remove/delete his personal info/billing info for security reasons before sharing the login and password).

(4) Once all fees are collected, and the game has been purchased under a new USER ID and PSN ID, and the GSC has removed his personal purchasing information. The GSC will distribute the gameshare PSN ID to all paid members of the gameshare.

(5) After receiving their gameshare PSN login, each of the remaining (four) gameshare members will create a NEW USER on their PS3 and under this new user setup their account under the PSN as an existing account using the information provided by their GSC. Each user locates and downloads the chosen game they paid for and the gameshare is complete.

I say let's start with $10 a month. We'll try to buy most of the games that we really want in the first couple months. So that if the group dies, the account will still have a good amount of games in it. But I hope it doesn't die... I hope this group will go on forever!

Rules

This group will spend $10 a month and generate a pool of funds this way. This $10/mo. would be a regular fee so that our pool always increases. If all 5 members agree, we can do an additional fund pooling if there are games everyone wants but the pool does not have enough money.

Each month, each member posts 2 games they wish to purchase and we do a vote, with three categories:
Buy - I want it!
Indifferent - Doesn't really matter
No - Don't buy

A game will be bought if the majority of the votes are YES. A game will also be bought if 4 people vote YES and only 1 votes NO.
Here are the scenarios where a game will be bought:
1) 3x YES, 2x Indifferent
2) 4x YES, 1x Indifferent
3) 4x YES, 1x No

I hope I can find some cool members and make this thing last. Hopefully it won't die in a couple months.. so serious members only :) We should get to know each other so there's some form of "trust" within the group. So if you're interested please let me know.

I am not interested in any other PS1/PS2 games (that I can't think of.)
I am not into FPS games.
I despise sports games.

I particularly enjoy rpg, strategy and puzzle games.

I would like to start with a larger sum then $10 to get things started. I would like to commit to a group that can stick together for at least one year. I would like some idea of games you guys are interested in buying.

The GSC's PS3 must 'exists' in a less-taxed province (Alberta). :)

You are charged taxes based on where your PS3's address is. Your credit card address has no affect.

I meant an initial lump sum, something like this month only, buy in would be $30, all subsequent months, $10 as described. We could buy a big whack of games to start. The total cost for a year would be then $10 x 11 months + $30 x 1 month = $140.

BTW I suggest all the current members to subscribe to this thread.. so you can keep updated... and if we can't get a fifth member, why don't we do it with 4 members for now.. and if a 5th member wants to join he'll just pay a buy-in fee. how's that?

lol Malacus.. you're confusing the situation here. I think everyone already agreed on $10 a month. I even suggested $20 to the other members because you wanted it to be $30 a month. They all said it was too high, and I agree. So we're going to stick with $10 a month.

I don't know the total cost of the Capcom Super Pack because I haven't added it to my cart and checked out yet. Can't you just calculate it with a calculator? Plus you're the one who mentioned the Alberta thing.. so if anyone would know, it would be you.

Hey, no you're not asking anything crazy lol.. but we already decided on $10 a month, so changing the rules now will be too complicated. And yes we can get the Capcom Super Pack, someone just has to pay a little more this month. Then next month this member will pay $10 minus what he paid extra for this month. I prefer if 1 person makes their April and May payments earlier and use that to buy burnout paradise. I'm indifferent about getting burnout. In March, FF13 and GoW3 is coming out and I'm gonna be pretty busy with that.

I missed that you could use crystals to upgrade your towers in the intro, which helped out a bit. Selling everything and building cannons for the last bouncing Buddha (?) sped things up too.

Unfortunately, my 55 gb hard drive is full now and I have to delete games to make space :( perhaps its time to update my hard drive.:razz:

I know it got good reviews because it's a classic.. but it's just Pac-Man.. nothing that special about it.. you can probably find a flash version online for free.

Sweet! I was having a lot of trouble setting up my wireless router.. but now I'm glad I did! Otherwise would have bought DS2 for the full price on the weekends.

I didn't get Third Strike because we have so many street fighter games already.. SF2 Turbo HD, MvC2.. and there's MvC3 and SF4 out now.. soon SF vs Tekken.. don't think we need anymore.. and NBA Jam is a sports game, I think we agreed that we wouldn't get any sports game that's why I skipped that.

Jamesyboy101 recommended Outland, I checked it out and looked awesome so I got it.

And Infamous 2: Festival of Blood, I felt like we needed to get a PSN Exclusive title because this might be our last purchase. First two games were great, so I'm assuming this one is good too. And we all have the first Infamous because of the free download so might as well continue the story.

We still have $8 something left. We can still make a purchase for one more game. I can pay the difference if it goes over..
