On certains days he'll eat like this. It's cute, but ...I wonder why.

Most cats do not like to eat or drink out of bowls if the sides touch their whiskers. Also, if a bowl is too deep, the cat may take the food out for convenience. A wider, shallower bowl will probably eliminate this behavior.

It's interesting and sweet to see the dexterity it has to remove 'one' piece of small kibble at a time. Quite amazing really!:)

One of my cats takes his wet food out of his dish with his mouth and puts it on the floor. I can't figure it out why but the floor is a mess. He even has place mats and still messes the floor up. I read somewhere that they do that if the dish is dirty but I've made sure it was clean and he still does it.
I had another cat who used to drink water with his paw. He wouldn't put his mouth to the bowl. It used to drive me nuts. He ate with his paws too sometimes.
Why? Who knows. Cats can be strange animals.

My Zoe does the same thing, except she uses her mouth to grab a piece of kibble out and then drops it on the ground in front of the bowl to eat it.
She's been doing this for years.
