Oh wow that is crazy! In my possession I have:

Intel Core i7 860
Intel Core 2 Duo P8400
Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz Prescott
Intel Celeron D 352
Intel Pentium 3 450MHz
Intel Pentium 2 300MHz
AMD Phenom II X4 955
AMD Phenom II X4 965
AMD Phenom II X4 940
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
3 x AMD Athlon II X4 630
AMD Athlon X2 3600

I think that's all for now. I might have a Socket A part somewhere too.

But over at the university lab, I get to play with Intel Xeon E5405 quad core 2GHz 1333FSB 12MB L2 cache CPUs (28 of them). :D

I've got 1 leftover system I'm trying to figure out what to do with. I usually give my older systems to friends and family, so I've never really built a collection.

I used to know this retired university professor who runs a private collection of computer hardware. He programmed with vacuum tube when he started, so I am pretty sure his collection is very big by now.

Heh, I remember seeing some CPU auctions on Fleabay a couple of years ago, and since then, I keep the any processor I come across. Even if the CPU doesn't hold high collectable value, older processors have more gold in 'em.

Some of my older CPU collections ...

i486DX-33 (possibly the 1st user-overclockable CPU ...)
P1-133
Pentium Pro 200 (gold-plated heat spreader ... my precious !)
Celeron 266 (slot-1 with no L2 cache ... One of the worst design of all time ...)
K6-III+ 450 (very rare ! One of the only 2 socket-7 CPUs with L2 cache ... Even that Russian guy doesn't have one in his collection ;) )
Duron 600
P3 700
P4 1.4
AthlonXP-M 2500+

My CPU Collection is at : 0 CPU's.
You think those are huge wait until you see Intel slot 1 and AMD slot A cartridge cpu. There also PITA to cool due the annoying cartridge.
