Wondering if someone can suggest/refer an agent or website for finding a nanny/domestic helper (needs to pick up a toddler from daycare/school and prepare a dinner plus some light house work).
What is the monthly/hourly going rate?
Thanks for any advice.

We got our nanny through Canadian Nanny (http://www.canadiannanny.ca/).
However, I think you would get more feedback if this was moved to the Parenting forum.

Thanks. Yes, mod, could you please move this thread to parenting? Thanks

i went to the baby show and i forgot the agency that does this but they have live in nannys who will watch your kids, cook and clean for you as long as you provide a room for them to live. I believe the cost was like 1500 a month

I prefer to have my 2 years old to go to daycare in the daytime as I think he will learn more there instead of seeing the nanny the whole day. I have no problem dropping him off at daycare in the morning, the challenge is to pick him up as I won't be back in my neighbourhood until 6:30 to 7:00 pm. So, ideally, I need someone to pick him up from daycare or eventually from JK, and prepare the dinner. Laundry and clean up can be done on weekends. I think 3-4 hours a day should be enough.
BTW, Should we always go through agency and make sure we pay taxes and insurance for the employment?
