Sorry guys for the lack of info but I should have taken a pic with more detail. Costco is selling a Nexstyle Bermuda Toilet for I believe $88 or $86. It's a dual flush and includes wax ring, toilet seat etc. I've never heard of Nexstyle toilets and can't find any info when googling it so therefore haven't purchased it yet but was hoping maybe someone can shed some light on this?

I'm looking at that same toilet. Costco told me they were made by "Quality Craft" http://www.qualitycraft.com
When I contacted the manufacturer they said the Bermuda HET Dual Flush Toilet is a special order by Costco. Their sales dept. emailed me a one page spec sheet. Not too much info on it .... probably the same amount of info listed on the box.

Has anyone had any reviews on this?

I bought a new house and the builder installed $30 toilets that take 2-3 times to flush correctly.

Thanks

I have installed 2 in my house, last 1 pending. First one went smoothly. Second one, not quite. Water leaked at where the tank-to-bowl bolt (RHS) is. Upon close inspection, I believe it is due to (1) holes (in the tank and bowl) not aligning properly and/or (2) the insulating foam got in the way of the rubber washer. Obviously better QC can probably rules that out. Fix was easy, but only after water dripping onto the floor.

My comments about it:
1. it works great (compare to the 13 LPF I replaced)
2. white is the only color
3. a bit higher than the one it replaces
4. super quiet when filling
5. everything included. Nothing more is required.
6. tank wobbles a bit when being pushed. May require something to fill the gap between tank and bowl.
7. very cost effective, consider I may be able to get $65 govt grant per unit. : )

Saw them at Costco Woodbridge ( colossus) on Sunday. Lots there. I actually picked up the one piece Water Ridge model as I've installed 3 of them already without any issues. As other posters said, the two piece could pose some difficulty in respect to leaks. No such issues with the one piece. Yes, I paid over $50 more but I believe they're worth it.

York region gives back $75 per toilet. I am not 100% certain the Bermuda one is in the list although the WaterRidge is. I already got the rebates for the other 3 and just submitted the last one.

The water Ridge model has also the slow lid and seat, a must have if you have young children.

I love the waterRidge model and it is also extremely quiet on fillup.

I installed the waterridge one piece at my last house... I've been waiting for them to go on sale ever since I moved. I picked it up about 1.5 years ago for approx $115 and they haven't been back at that price since

I bought 3 last time they were on sale for 120. should have got one more. so stupid.

I also got tired of waiting as well so bought one. I had my final energy audit yesterday and I needed one last toilet. York region did extend the rebate but I am not sure for how long. It's nice to actually get paid to install a new toilet. with all the grants, I made ~$80 per toilet. Sweet!

Love our 1-pc waterridge but haven't bought/had experience with this 2-pc.
Model is indeed on the latest (Dec. 15, 2010) MAP list under QualityCraft Bermuda EL ADA model 200119 and it's flush perfomance score is listed at 800 (the 1pc is listed at 500).

MAP of 500 is low, even 800. I am looking to buy the American Standard Cadet 3 with a MAP of 1000.

On paper 500 is low, but in practice, the 500 MaP rating on the 1-pc outperformed the toilet I bought with a rating of 1000, so MaP ratings are a crapshoot (pun intended)... go by actual user reviews if possible ( and the Cadet 3 should be sufficient however watch the trap opening if it's similar to the American Standard Mainstream - that thick toilet paper can clog it pretty easily).

They all have this intermittent problem where the water continues to run after large flush.
I had the flush valve replaced twice already and the problem keeps coming back.

The only times I've had the 1-pc run was due to operator error (my wife did not push the button completely down). At first I thought it was a bad valve tower, but after questioning her and having her not use that toilet for 2wks, it was definitely nailed down to operator error. To get it to stop, I turned off the water supply to the toilet for 30-45s. or so, then turned it back on and flushed it 'correctly'.

Bought a two piece berumuda to replace my 2 month old POS PRO Flo Toilet from my builder (they used WM Schmid). The pro flo would take 2-3 flushes for a number 2. This toilets number 1 button is better then that even!!!

The instructions and install was ok, except it seemed like they forgot to tell how to install the tank. After trial and error I figured it out. I am guessing they must sell this as a one piece somewhere else.

Overall for $88 this is awesome! Shame on you WM Schmidt for installing a toilet that can't do the job....

Edit: Apparently the water ridge (maybe even bermuda) toilet might be made by Danze! They make one of the better toilets on the market. Behold the power of an HET:

Just installed the 2 piece Bermuda today. Rim height is 16 1/2".

I could not stand the horrible flush of our old toilet. So far this one is great, and refilling is super fast and quiet. I'm not thrilled about the seat, but that can be fixed easy enough.

on another forum, it was mentioned that removing the flush mechanism, drying it out, spraying the internals/linkages in the mechanism with Jig-a-loo or a silicone or lithium based lubricant seems to help from the parts "sticking". Haven't needed to try this but a $5 solution seems worth a try.

Don't know who makes Danze's stuff, but the Wateridge 1-pc is made by a co. called Milim G&G Ceramics (in China of course) and the Bermuda 2-pc is made by a co. called Quality Craft (if you check their website it looks almost identical to the "Alexis").

Is the Bermuda toilet bowl elongated (commercial sized) like the 1 pc. waterridge, or is it a standard size bowl? I want to buy one and install in the tenant's bathroom, but I don't have room for the commercial sized bowl.

mangoman
Jan 25th, 2011, 06:19 PM
It's supposed to be an EL which means elongated but more importantly you should check the actual dimensions (the dimensions on the box in the costco thread pic was blurry but seemed to be close to the alexis on the quality craft site). I would either take a trip to Costco and check the dimensions or call up quality craft and ask them for the dimensions on the Bermuda model no. 016TQS060WHI

It is elongated, but its also smaller than our standard sized one we replaced. A little higher, but that is it.

From floor to top of tank is 29.75", but that is at the side, it slopes up in the center of the lid where you flush and that might be 1-1.5" higher if I had to guess?

Looks like box and instructions all went into the recycling so cant say for sure. If you need any more measurements I'm happy to help.

Bought the Bermuda toilet last weekend and installed it and so far it's great. We didn't have a big space to put this toilet and as it says on the box it's a space saver which it definitely is. As someone mentioned before it's made by Quality Craft so be sure to look for that make when searching the approved toilets for a refund from the City.

Actually the one-piece wateridge is still a pretty great deal to me (but I agree at $88, the Nexstyle is cheaper and may even pay you with city rebates) - looks quite nice and is quicker to install if you have 2 ppl to position it. Good Luck finding something similar that actually works/flushes as well outside of Costco.

I caved in and bought the Bermuda tonight. Before I did, I went to Rona since they have a sale on as per:

http://forums.redflagdeals.com/rona-1-piece-elongated-toilet-dual-flush-half-price-119-till-march-15-a-1010732/

....Which I believe is this one: http://www.rona.ca/shop/~toilet-elongated-1-piece-toilet-uberhaus-438900_toilets_bathroom_uberhaus_kitchen-bathroom_shop

Anyhow, when I got to Rona, I found that they had no stock left on that one so they were willing to sell the following in-house model for $119 (reg $249): http://www.rona.ca/shop/~toilet-dual-flush-toilet-rona-collection-178222_toilets_bathroom_rona-collection_kitchen-bathroom_shop

Anyone care to wade in on which, out of all three models is the best deal? Would much appreciate as I won't hesitate to take the Bermuda back if I haven't made the right decision.

Sorry to drag this thread up again, I bought one in London, went back to get another, they are sold out, in both stores in London. Not sure about Windsor which is next closest for me, but in our guest bathroom, I can't use the elongated seat anyhow, the knees would be pretty close to the opposite wall... seat height is 16" and yes, the specs are on a tiny little label on the bottom of the box, full length, back to front is 28.75" I think the round bowl I have in there now is something like 26".
As far as mAp scores, I found the OPAL toilet at Rona locally here, going to pick it up tonight, for $79, no seat. However, it is the standard bowl, single 6l flush, and 1000 mAp score... the one that it is replacing is 13l... I used to think it was just slow to fill, but found out, it was just a water pig!
I think for the energy rebates, you need minimum 360 mAp score. Anyhow, I wish I could have fit 2 of these dual flush models in our house, but no dice...

Are any quality rebate-eligible toilets on sale right now for June 2011? I'm looking to buy two, so regular price isn't in the cards and 2X $75 York Region rebates will be greatly welcomed.

Based on written reviews, I had decided on the Cadet 3, but craftsmanship seems to be REALLY unpredictable according to YouTube reviews (where some don't want to flush, while others perform like champs). There seems to be a quality control issue at American Standard and since I'll be using a plumber, the labour costs of replacing a toilet that my not even be refundable isn't something I want to chance with Cadet 3. Thank you VERY much in advance for any advice/tips/suggestions.
