Issues with Dlink DIR 655 and PS3

Hi There,
Wondering if anyone can help me with a problem between my DIR 655 and PS3.

I was watching Netflix and the movie kept lagging and goes into the "Retrieving" mode. So I test my internet connection thru my ps3 and the download is less the 1Mbps! So I did a speed test with my iphone4 and I got 15.52Mbps.

Is there a known issue between the DIR655 and PS3?

Can someone explain how to set up the QoS thingy with my PS3 so I won't have these issues?

Or would it be a problem with my Service Provider (Rogers)....I'm suppose to get up to 10Mbps.

Thanks

I solved this issue with my friend's PS3 by putting into the DMZ.

Go into your router settings, explore around (I think the setting is under tools), then you can specify the IP of the device which you want to put under DMZ.

I am such a "newbie" when it comes to this stuff, but where do I find the IP of my PS3? Is it the Mac address?

Thanks so much.

Try this..

In the WISH settings.
Netlflix P:80
Priority Video
Host 1: 0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255
Ports 1 0 to 65536
Host 2: 0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255
Ports 2 80 to 80

Netlflix P:443
Priority Video
Host 1: 0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255
Ports 1 0 to 65536
Host 2: 0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255
Ports 2 443 to 443

You can also create similar rules in the QOS configuration as well. I found that prioritized the Netflix traffic nicely.

If you want to limit it down to the PS3, then just replace the Host1 address with your PS3's IP address. I have multiple netflix enabled devices, and I'm not too concerned about prioritizing regular http/s traffic so I left it open for all devices on my network.

Hey thanks for the response....last night when I got home before i did anything I tested the speed again on my ps3, and everything was back to normal!! It was Rogers problem....even though I called and asked if there was any disruption and they denied it. But it seems that everything is back up to speed. Thanks !

You know...actually, I will try your method..
