I'm possibly interested in this deal if it goes through.

I have a 2000 Toyota Celica (Manual Transmission).

Thanks!

He did my remote starter for a 2000 Celica GT manual last year. No problems so far. He also put one in a 1997 Camry for me a couple of years before that without any issues as well. I'll go to him for my next car too.

I put in a one way starter for both cars.

Thanks for taking the time to read the ad.

In order for this group buy to happen, we need a minimum of six cars first to possibly be interested in installing a remote starter. As of right now, we have two here that's interested plus one more from another forum.

Maybe it is too late in the season to start a group buy on this ? Or as someone else pointed out on another forum, maybe the models used aren't exactly everyone's cup of tea ?

This group guy is open to other suggestions so to anybody who may be interested as well, please feel free to chime in. I know John checks his RFD occassionally. And if anything, I can always report back to him what concerns other members may have.

Also, he installed a one-way remote starter on mine too (same model as the one above) and I have had no problems with it either. It works even if I press the key from the 11th floor of my building all the way to our parking lot and that's quite far.

Thanks.

Hi everyone. I had a remote starter installed by John at Auto-Links a few weeks back and was quite impressed with the overall quality of the starter itself and the workmanship he provided.

Long story short, my mom now wants a remote starter installed on her car as well after seeing it on my car and I talked to John about possible discounts.

So here first is a Gauging Interest thread for Compustar Remote Starters from Auto-Links.

These are the models that will be used (made by Compustar):

RF-2WG5-SH 2 way starter - $250

This is Compustar's third-generation 2-way that features lock, unlock, trunk and remote start confirmation without the complexity and large size LCD. No longer do you need to carry a big chunky remote in order to have the benefits of a 2-way remote starter. Commands are confirmed via 2 LED lights on the front of the remote along with an audible tone.

* 2-way Remote starter only
* 2-way SLIM LED remote, 1-way secondary remote
* 3000 Feet Range
* Lock/Unlock/Trunk/Remote Start

RF-1WG4-AM 1 way starter - $180

* 1-way Remote starter only
* Two 4 button
* 1000 Feet Range
*Lock/Unlock/Trunk/Remote Start

Group Buy Pricing (includes installation already):

$250 (for 2-way starter) OR $180 (for 1-way starter) + $100 (for the module) - $20 (for the GB discount) plus tax = out the door price.

Most cars above model year 2000 will need this part to interface with the security chip. If you're unsure, ask John and he will let you know if your car needs a bypass module.

Anyway, if anybody is still interested in getting a remote starter installed, please feel free to add your name to the list in this format: username, type of car, model year of car. In order for this group buy to happen, we need a minimum of six cars.

PM me if you need more information (which I will then relay to John) or you can call John at 416-751-8883. Auto-Links is located 1066 Birchmount Rd (just north of Eglinton) in Scarborough.

He has run two successful group buys on RFD already for Ceramic Tints (http://forums.redflagdeals.com/ceramic-tint-group-buy-auto-links-updated-w-prices-pm-me-868275/) and Auto Tints (http://forums.redflagdeals.com/sign-up-auto-tint-group-buy-auto-links-scarborough-2010-a-870946/) so he is no stranger to doing group buys on here and several other forums. I've also had my car tinted at his shop, had my HIDs fixed at his shop, and other various small installs done there for my car so I know the quality of work he puts into every job.

I'd be in for this; I was planning on getting one next week anyway! BTW I'm looking for the 2-way starter....if it makes a difference!

Not sure if it'd help, but I've already got a unit here (2-way prostart from CT) that I was going to call him to install into a 2003 Alero as well. I've been doing a lot of research in the GTA, and this guy keeps coming up as one of the best according to all the reviews I've found. If it makes a difference, I'll throw that into his workload!
