There is a reason that the government stopped funding Vitamin D testing - pretty much everyone was "low" and there was no evidence to suggest that testing and then supplementing would provide any benefit.
Really? I often see journal articles showing the benefits of Vitamin D.

The government doesn't fund eye exams either, but that doesn't mean there isn't a benefit to them.

ETA: I added a few articles that I had book marked. What do you think?

As I pointed out, it is not covered except in instances where there are underlying issues. Actually in that case it is covered. Much like eyes...if you have underlying issues or are of certain age, it is covered. Just to do the testing for the sake of testing, actually has only limited value, that is why it is not covered.

Many of the articles only point to a relationship...not that any particular level has an impact on the overall health or quality of life. It is covered if you have:
Osteoporosis and Osteopenia
Rickets
Malabsorption Syndromes
Renal Disease
Patients on medications that affect vitamin D metabolism

Believe me, I would have loved for their to be support for Vitamin D. In a previous company, we were one of the first to market a Vitamin D test. In the US, they made millions upon millions. Here in Canada, not so much.

Yes, I understand how it's covered because I meet the requirements (unfortunately!) and get tested regularly.

I agree that it really depends on context; some people really do need it.

Apologies if this has already been discussed, if so, could anyone provide a (condensed) recap? :)
Do you already have liver problems presently? I eat 150-200 grams of protein daily for the past 2 years at 160 lbs. I seriously don’t think you are doing any harm to your liver... some people say you can only absorb 20-25g per meal.. im not sure how much truth there it is to that but I think as along as you have protein intake in moderation you are fine. E.g. 20g-25g every fee hrs. Not 100g at once
Is your existing whey protein causing digestion problems...? Perhaps looking into the ingredients.

Protein intake has never been shown to cause health issues in HEALTHY people. Focus on eating a proper, balanced diet and your protein intake won't be a problem.

It depends. Are you eating well and hydrating as well as possible? If not, no. If yes, maybe. :D

Is it best to use weight gainers to supplement my plan to intake a lot of calories through eating a lot of food to gain weight? Or should I not take weight gainers for long-term effects ext (if any)?

Personally, I prefer food best and calories are easy to consume (for me).

How about Diet for marathoners???

I'm waiting for it!

Eat enough to fuel your training sessions.
Eat enough to recover from those training sessions.

1.Most creatine manufacturers say to start with a loading phase of 20 grams a day, and then take 5 grams a day, regardless whether you workout or not. They also say to cycle the product every couple of weeks. Let’s see what we can find out about creatine, shall we?

2. There is absolutely no need to take creatine on the off days [unless you like pissing money down the toilet

1. Last thing you should ever do is listen to manufacturers. Because the same manufacturers claim their form of creatine is better, which is not true for most people. Also loading up is not really needed as it may produce side effects. In fact, I would advise against it, due to possible side effects with creatine( gastrointestinal, hair loss, bloating, nausea, etc) you may not even know it so why risk it). Overall, 3-5gr a day is all that is needed. I take 3gr as it seems I am getting about 2 more from food. I know a few big guys who take 8gr/day and swear by it. I am pretty sure science supports it as your dose depends on your weight.

2. well, creatine is not a preworkout so overall, it's good to take it every day, especially for those who don't work out every day. Older adults should just take it regardless whether they go to the gym or not as well due to it being beneficial for the brain.
I am in the gym only twice a week, does that mean I only have to take it on those days? No.
Also, you don't really need to cycle it as it's bro-science.
I use voice typing, expect mistakes...
