May 2nd, 2006 12:01 AM #153if you are talking about the ones that you wear at night so that you don't have to wear glasses/contact lenses in the day, no I don't have any information on that as those are usually prescribed by optometrists...

Their examinations lasts for only 5 minutes and only check for your prescription, I used to work there. Go there once, you will never go back again.

Well a lot of "sample" contacts you get can be worn for a month. Also some monthly contacts can be worn for more than a month.

Hi I have a question regarding transistion lens.
I just ordered a pair (unfortunatly if i have discovered this thread earlier I would have came to you instead) They said Essilor is better than Nikon, while all the other places in the mall (First Markham) say if you want the best get Nikon since they are well know for making lens. I followed my usual optical store's advice and got the Essilor since he said it was the same price and they have less complains from customer that bought Essilor while more complains from customer that bought Nikon. $150. Did i make a mistake with going for Essilor instead of Nikon? This is my first transistion lens and I'm hoping I made a good choice.
BTW I didn't know you can get prescription sunglasses with oakley frames!!! I think i'll be getting one next year!!
Thanks!!

Why are prices so high on prescription glasses?
Frames cost so much, yet they are cheap and bend or break very easily.
Just look at the deals that people have posted on RFD - a complete pair of glasses for around $35 (including shipping from halfway around the world).
Prices in Canada seem to be way too high._______________

You can buy reading glasses for $1, which tells you how cheap basic eyeglasses frames can be.

3. Glasses are a fashion item and often worn on a daily basis, so many people are willing to spend a lot to get the look they want.
For those three reasons, I'd much rather pay $400 for a pair of fashionable, high-quality glasses than $35 for a basic pair.
BTW, the premium for fashionable designer frames is significantly less at P-Mall stores like Optical 88 than at typical optical boutiques.

ah long, thanks for taking all these questions. I have a couple questions on high index plastic lenses.
1) Is there any difference between the high index brands? 1.67 and 1.74.
2) How much for Nikon4, Nikon5, and the new Seemax lenses?
3) Do you have any comments on Seemax?
Thanks.
