Anyone heard of cheapuse.net someone over at another forum mentioned it and is similiar to Astraweb but no posting or SSL the price $7.99 per month is good, I may try it since my xlned expires tomorrow.

I'm currently using simplyusenet, 7.99$ a month for 8 connections and a capped 8Mb speed limit (I'm on a 6Mb line so no problems), with SSL and unlimited bandwith.
The also have other packages for lower/higher speed cap.

They say 510 days, I have downloaded stuff around 200 days old and it went smoothly apart from a few missing article here and there ( nothing that the pars could'nt fix).
I tried Astraweb before and I'm pretty sure they offer a better service but hey, this is RFD, I HAD to save 3 bucks a month!

Thanks, I'll give it a try since my xlned will expires tomorrow and they have only about 220 days retention...I read from a german forum that this person tried a 500 days NBZ and no problem with simply usenet...afterall I could test it for a month, like you said...hey this is RFD, it is $2 savings plus I don't need to pay 1 year in advance. Thanks again.

The offers ends January 21st, after that, the 8Mb account is back to 11$ (same as Astraweb, so really frozen solid deal)

Better than cheapuse.net I found since it offer free SSL, the only concern I have is the speed....my Xlned 2.5Mbits but it goes up and down in between 1.8-2.8 and most of the below 2.5.....I have a 5Mbits DSL so I would think the 8Mbits is good for me even if it goes up and down.
