I like the Asus more for a couple of reasons. The Warranty that Asus comes with is 2 years with a 1 year accidental peirod (AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME), that's a warranty that you would pay 150+ for at a store.
I believe it comes with an external subwoofer and has third party audio speakers which makes the sound generated impressive.
Asus has a blue ray reader and writer, handy for back up and HD video output.
However, the MSi is cheaper and comes with a better graphics card and the same processor - but it has one 750GB hard drive vs Asus' 2 500GB.
It'll come down to preference - the cheaper option here is the MSi and it comes fairly powerful with a GT 660m, but if you can swing the graphics (660 -> 650 means instead of being able to play most games on high, you'll be able to play slightly less than most games on high) and you want the sound + warranty + blue ray for an extra 120 or so, it'll be the Asus.

According to MSI's website, the one I linked is actually the 15.6" version...this is the 17.3" one: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16834152348
Also according to their website, they come with a 2 year warranty...anyone know if this is true in Canada aswell?
