ASUS EAH 4870 DK third party cooling suggestions.
ok so i broke the screws on my ASUS EAH 4870 DK stock cooler when cleaning the sink of dust and putting new paste on.
currently i am holding the stock cooler in place with 2 screws and 2 zip ties.
i need a third party cooling solutions soon cuz i am a little uncomfortable with this setup.
i have done my own digging and research and i cannot find a good review on any cooler for my specific card. if i am correct my card uses a non reference board.
also after doing more digging i found that the vrms are a problem to cool. i can tell you right now i do not plan to overclock this guy too much as all my gaming needs are properly met.
what i do need is a good cooler that has room for future crossfire.
i am open to suggestions ppl.
also please note that i will be buying all my stuff from ncix.com since i already have about 200 bucks in credit.

I think the only cooler that would fit the bill is the Artic Cooling Accelero TWIN TURBO sells at NCIX for about $40.00 and won't blow your ear drums. The Accelero S1 Rev. 2 + Turbo module couldn't effective cool the HD4870. No idea if it fit since it's non reference board you may want to try contacting Asus for replacement cooler.

Is this your card? It has its own VRM heatsink so you won't have to worry about that. Measure the distance between the mounting holes - if it forms a 53-54mm square (measured between the center of the holes) then it's the same as the reference design. If so, I suggest an Accelero S1 with your choice of fan zip-tied to it, or a Twin Turbo.

that is indeed my card.
thanks for th replies guys.
after doing my own research i did indeed come to only 2 options.
trad2 with 2x92mm fans
or
s1 accelero with 1x 120mm scythe or noctua fan
it seems that 4870 and 4890 are a special breed that are picky with coolers because of the vrm overheating risk.

Infamous.
I guess you are trying to ignore my PMs and e-mails.
Can you please proceed with refund for unshipped parts?
This is only way I can communicate with you since you are not responding to my e-mails, phone calls, and PMs.
thanx
