I looked around, haven't seen many review. Amazon was pretty bad (cheaper option though).

This is little pricier but it is the OEM Asus screen protector, so should be good for the phone;

A cheaper option would be this; http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_ ... oeni04msg3

It is scary to watch some of the video on youtube (stacking up the nano SIM and micro SD). There is huge risk that the SIM tray will be stuck closed

I am using Fido data (LTE) in SIM#1 with another Chatr SIM for calls (likely to be ditched if trial of Textme works out well)
No SD card of course

Has anyone found a good screen protector for the Zenfone 3?

Reading reviews and find lots of people having issues due to the curved screen.

I know someone who has a zenfone 3. The screen protector is tiny, there's lots of edge on every side that's not protected. Almost makes putting on a protector useless. There are lots of options on eBay if you can tolerate the long shipping time.

Thanks. Seems like a general issue for the zenfone.

I will buy a case first then think about the screen protector

Both my daughter and I just bought Zenfone 3s. I have the flip cover and she has a ringke case on hers. I've ordered a few inexpensive screen protectors - all of which will take roughly 3-4 weeks to arrive - and I'll report back on what we find. Given what I've read about the curved screen issue I wasn't willing to spend much but thought we'd try the less expensive ones and write off the cost if we're not happy with the results. We've always had both screen protectors and cases on our phones (with none of them ever so much as scratched much less shattered and that's with a couple small-ish drops each year) so going without the protector is a little strange for us. Love the phones though! Such a great purchase.

Got my phone used for $250.

Great phone to use so far especially at that price. The phone is smooth and a much needed upgrade over my Nexus 5. Asus does install a lot of apps but they can be hidden so it wasn't too bothersome after I disabled them. I like the camera as well. I got a screen protector but like all the reviews out there for every zenfone 3 screen protector, they are all too small.

Coming back to say these are the best ones we bought: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01GFLARDM/ref ... TE_3p_dp_1

Ordered on the 5th, arrived on the 9th. Sent from Germany. They're slightly smaller than the screen but that's due to the Asus curved screen and I'd rather have them be slightly smaller than be sticking out over the screen (as complained about with some other protectors). Easy to apply, cut-outs in the right place, good quality esp for price.

Bump...was wondering if anyone has rooted this phone on Nougat? I've rooted a Nexus in the past (was easy) and this phone's predecessor, the Zenfone 2 (which was pretty difficult). I've searched up XDA a bit and appears to be a couple of ways but some of it is going over my head. Can anyone point me in the right direction of the one they used for Nougat (the Zenfone 2 had different ways of rooting on Lollipop and Marshmallow)? Thanks.

so here's something... I have not rooted my Zenfone 3 at all. my phone was left on the stock OS, and guess what... so I went on vacation, just arrived to the airport after getting off the plane, and then I restarted my phone because my wi-fi wasn't working, except that after I restarted my phone it went into a bootloop and got bricked! every time I restarted my phone it would just keep trying to load up but would keep restarting again immediately after popping up the home screen. tried to get my data/passwords off it by flashing the recovery img but couldn't even do that! maybe it was a regular OS update that did it, or just arriving in another country and the roaming setting update, but I had to factory reset it to get it back.

it looks like the Canadian version of the phone has like zero support. checking XDA, it looks like in order to root it there's some talk that you need to do some edits and modifications of the image files first which really, i'd be weary of doing myself after voiding the warranty. I tried even to root my phone to fix it and get at least my data back but couldn't even do that! (or rather didn't have time on my trip to figure it out.) and to top it off, after resetting my phone there was a security measure where you need to enter your Google account info and I didn't have my Google account password memorized so I had to reset my password, but then it said I can't use my phone until 24 hours after resetting my password! seriously, screw you Google! leaving me hanging on a solo vacation without a cell phone, borrowing laptops to try and fix it and wasting time... Oh, and now after resetting the phone, the 2nd SIM card slot does not work at all now! I need that 2nd slot, it's the reason I bought it in the first place to have separate plans, with a data SIM and voice/text SIM, and now I have to send the phone back for an RMA or something. this may sound like i'm whining, but seriously this situation is messed up for me when I did not do any modifications to this phone that I literally bought a month or two ago from a local Bestbuy. ruined my vacation and ruined my life.

i'm seriously never getting an Asus phone (didn't really like my Zenfone 2 that much also), and might just get an iPhone where you don't have these kinds of problems to begin with.

I've heard it's almost impossible finding one that fits properly because the mold they used was for a prototype one and the demand was never big enough for them to fix it for the market.

I'm really thinking of ditching Zenfone 3 and think everyone should do the same, and also avoid Zenfone 4... the company, Asus, doesn't even seem to have a tech support phone number for their phones but has a number for every other product that they do. what should I do? e-mail them and send back, or maybe just not waste money/time sending back, to instread try an fix it myself rooting it if it's potentially just a software / OS problem?

TLDR; i suggest you don't buy Zenfone 3 after my experience
