It was recently changed to 1 years from 3. If the card is an X800-era or earlier card, it may have the 3 year warranty.

ATI SAPPHIRE Warranty - Video Cards
My brother's ATI Card died on him... ATI SAPPHIRE X1600PRO 256MB AGP.
Checking the AMD/ATI website.:
It says there is a 1 yr warranty.
THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS FOR ADVANCED MICRO DEVICES, INC. (“AMD”) PC AND WORKSTATION GRAPHICS PRODUCTS (“PRODUCTS”) PURCHASED AT RETAIL AFTER OCTOBER 25, 2006.
http://support.ati.com/ics/support/d...e&folderID=281
I thought these cards had more than 1 yr... can anyone confirm>?
This link is for Warranty Statement & Conditions for products purchased prior to August 31, 2005: http://support.ati.com/ics/support/d...e&folderID=281
So what about the period in between?
Has anyone done a RMA with ATI before?Last edited by CSR; Nov 20th, 2007 at 11:24 PM.

It is a ATI SAPPHIRE X1600PRO 256MB AGP.
Bought in May 2006.
It says somewhere on the website, prior to a certain date, the warranty is 3 years.
Does this mean I have to go through Sapphire?
http://www.sapphiretech.com/us/support/warranty.php
My bro got it from Sunny Computers at Pacific Mall, but that store closed down.RMA/Warranty
Sapphire VGA products carry a 2 year warranty with all enquires carried out through your initial place of purchase. This can only be carried out by the original purchaser Please contact your Dealer/Reseller for Warranty / RMA service. They will require proof of purchase which includes the original invoice/documentation.Last edited by CSR; Nov 19th, 2007 at 11:19 PM.

It's a Sapphire? Well then it's got a 1 yr warranty through Sapphire, not ATI. It's also a really crappy warranty, and in fact Sapphire asks for $50
from Canadian customers just to process the RMA.

Only 2 companies that I know of had more then 1 year warrenties on there ati videocards if I remember correctly, HIS, Gigabyte ( 3 yr I believe), Visiontek (lifetime), PowerColor (lifetime as well I believe) & I think MSI's as well.
ATI/Sapphire cards carry only 1 year warrenties on them. I've bought sapphire based cards for awhile now never had a dud out of 3-4 of them that I have owned (9000Pro, X800GTO2, X850 XT modded to PE & currently my X1950 XT).
In reguards to me buying right now I'd have to say I'm lookin at a HIS or Visiontek 2870 card.
As for that card that died .... its comon knowledge that those cards are like ticking timebombs either they kack right away or else within the 1st few months, the rialto bridge chip seems to be the culperate of it. As it is its time for pci-e for ya ... especialy when a nice card like the 3850 is out there for practicaly dirt cheap.

Ok guys, they weren't that bad. I emailed the US warranty centre they quickly forwarded me the CAN info.
I emailed the CAN centre and got 2 detailed replies within 1/2 hour. I just sent them my info so we'll see how it goes from here. $25 total cost if I drop if off at their Markham office, which includes shipping to and from HK, back to my house and all admin costs... Not bad if you ask me, although I haven't RMA'ed anything before.

Warranty pffft..next to non-existant in the computer industry past 30 days LOL
Most Sapphire cards are 1-year as of lately..I know my 2900XT and both my 2600XT's are 1-year.
