Which ATI video card maker has the best warranty/customer service?
We all know about Nvidia cards from BFG, EVGA and XFX.
But what about ATI cards?

Personally, I think Sapphire or ASUS has the best.

Sapphire X1600: fan got noisy after a year, but a drop of lube took care of the problem.
Diamond X2600: crappy BIOS that doesn't work with ATI Tool (no fan control or under/overclocking)

What's Asus' RMA service like for Cdn customers? I've owned a lot of Asus mobo, but I've never had to RMA any. Any past experience?

best to call them at (510) 739-3777 Ext. 5105.
gotta ship to
ASUS Technology Service, Inc.
ATTN: RMA Dept, RMA #_____________
121 River Ridge Circle, Dock C

MSI is very good with RMA, as they have a depot in the GTA region.
very easy to deal with too, as they go by s/n for warranty.
Asus also goes by s/n for warranty.

I believe Asus and Gigabyte both have warranties (at least @ NCIX) where you mail it back to NCIX. With PP or VIP membership, that means free shipping. Without a doubt thats the best warranty.
Sapphire has gone down the drain with its warranty (google it and you'll find a ton of examples) so i would advise avoiding them.
VisonTek has switched to life time warranty so its the longest (out of all ATI warranties). Catch is you got to pay for 2-way shipping... which isn't really worth it after a couple of years.

Asus is great because out of all the companies, it has the longest warranty ( 3 years ). Ive heard horror stories from sapphire's RMA, where they would not have the same video card in stock so they send you a lower-end card, and the process could take weeks.

I had to RMA my P5n32-E. I paid for the shipping to somewhere far away in the states, then a month later I got a new board back from them. I have never had to RMA anything before so I can't compare. I was not in a hurry so it was no big deal, but a month is a long time.

Asus - For video card, I had to RMA the same card twice since the first time they didnt fix the problem, but at the end they did fix it.
MSI - Ships to Markham, so for me, shipping is pretty cheap.

i had a problem with asus awhile back with a motherboard before they had depots in Canada. they mailed me pics 3 weeks later of the mb saying it was damaged during delivery but only took pics of the mb and not the box and tossed the box. after several calls and complaints they finally gave in and sent me a new board but i hated having to deal with them and swore i wouldnt.
problem is they make good boards when they work so i am using one now and at least they have a Canadian depot now.
msi was fast but i had to pay a ton for ups brokerage fees but again they now have a Canadian depot.
ATI has always been great but now they dont make thier own boards or if they do i cant find them. i have had to return 4-5 cards (a couple of those were same cards) and they were fast in turn arounds.

someone pm'd me about asus and that they were told they had to rma it to the states. now i was told last summer when i purchased my asus mb from ncix that asus had a canadian depot now but sounds like i was misinformed or lied too by ncix which sucks since i probably would have looked into a mb that could be serviced in canada. if anyone knows for sure please post.
as for ncix i have been given some rediculous info from this one guy there. he told me if i bought the vista 64 bit home premy that none of my games would work and i would have to buy them in 64 bit versions like doom 3 and cod . i know that there are a few games like wow that you may have to download a type of version (wow64) but i dont think you need to pay for it.
i thought once they started to get guys in there i could understand it would be better but they hired some stupid guys. i dont care if someone is asian, white, indian or whatever as long as i can understand them especially when your talking about technology and words that really need to be understood.
the thread should be what video card companies have canadian depots :P
