If you had 180k MR *and* 90k SPG ... would you go for the 270k MRP using the MR or the SPG?
Or both?
Same either way no?

MR> MRP 1:1.5
SP > MRP 1:3

Yes, it's the same. Which would you personally use was the question?

I've never thought of MR 2:1 to SPG as a 'great' value and I've always thought of SPG as worth keeping since they are hard to get (relative to other points).

So I have one voice saying "don't waste SPG", and one voice saying "don't waste 2 MR to get 1 SPG" :)
POLL: How frequent is your RRSP-matching?
Plastiq: Pay any bill with credit card for 0-2.5% fee (help meet min spending and keep old cards active!)
Rewards program transfer times (e.g. SPG->Aeroplan, Marriott->SPG, Amex MR->SPG...)

Fair enough in all regards. Personally I value SpG and Marriott more than MR at the moment only because I suck at finding redemption flights (transferring MP to airline programs)

If you transfer MR with intention of getting Marriott points then you are gaining 1.5 Marriott per MR point. Otherwise you're "losing" by transferring and using with SPG.

You can always replace your Starpoints with MR if you need to but you can't replace your MR with starpoints if that makes sense.

Yes it makes sense, and that was my leaning ... use SPG, then replace SPG with MR later if necessary ... but then the voice that says "2:1 MR to SPG is a bad deal" pipes in and tells me I'm dumb to do that later :D

Yeah... sometime in 2016 there was one. Who knows when the next one will be.
I'd love to write history... in advance.

Thanks. Do you remember how much the bonus was?

The regular transfer rate is MR:SPG 2:1.

Sorry... I misread that... I thought you meant the last MR-Avios transfer... which was 1:1.25

The hotel transfer to Aeroplan 30% bonus is back.
Looks like we will no longer be able to get this bonus on the Marriott 7-night Travel Package with transfer to Aeroplan:
This offer is not applicable to Hotel+Air package redemptions offered by Marriott Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest.
Anyone redeeming the Marriott 7-night Travel Package, leave a comment and let us know if you get the 30% bonus or not.

Never played with BA Avios before, first time trying this Amex > Avios conversion promo. Seems it doesn't come along very often, once a year? Anyways, I converted a bunch yesterday, and pleasantly surprised to see the points INCLUDING the bonus showing up at BA.com within 24hrs. Smooth and quick. Well done Amex.

Thanks to OP @crimsona for maintaining this thread history.

Thanks for the reminder… I almost forgot to convert the points today today’s the last day. #Cuttingitclose

Debating whether I should convert some more. I'm inexperienced with using Avios for those "sweet spots", but definitely know I don't want to convert to Aeroplan until we're scraping the bottom of the Pesos barrel.

Yeah, I booked 6 flights BLI-KOA for 25k + $9 each. I just booked 4 flights SEA-CUN for 25k + $90. If you're on the West Coast... Alaskan Airlines through BA are great redemptions.

How did you search and book those flights? Using the British Airways.com? When I tried that with BA, it return an error saying that BA and its partner don't fly this route.
