Actually from the Flyertalk thread (and my memory), the May 2012 promo only excluded the US Amex MR points. I decided to hold off that time because I was waiting on my bonus points and wanted to hit the next tier. Too bad for me the December promo excluded the Canadian MR points too.

Thanks for the history

Too bad Aeroplan has now excluded AMEX MR 3 times, and probably safe to say it won't happen again @@
Yeah...I just hope that this doesn't happen to Amex===>BA Avios, as well. With 2x points on grocery, gas, drug store, travel (which is ~60% of my spend), the 50% bonus is super lucrative. 3.3% for me - which is an awesome value!!!!

Yeah, I think there's a lot of speculation that Amex is trying to push their Aeroplan cards, so being able to transfer MRs to Aeroplan with a bonus would discourage Amex Aeroplan card users. Just a guess. But, if you also notice, this omission is timed pretty close to the introduction of BA transfers/bonuses with Amex. Maybe they're trying to encourage those transfers instead?

RBC 50% promo to BA Avios is back on.

Received insert with my bill. From Jul 1 - July 31, 2013.

To max out this benefit you can call RBC to have your statement date changed to one of the last days of July so that all your spending from that month will post in time for you to transfer.

So based on history, next Aeroplan bonus transfer should start October 14 or 21, 2013?

Bah, was really hoping for better than 20% this time around.

I converted 100k avion to 150k avios a few yrs ago, twice attempted to use them but ended up cancelling due to unforeseen circumstances so I still have these damn pts. But both times trying to figure out a flight plan was brutal since (a) u have to book well in advance and (b) there are few reward seats per flight. Avion is just boom call em up and pick the flight u want. Is it really worth the 50% bonus or not? Personally I'm not so sure anymore...

Only reason to have Avion, regular RBC points only worth at most 2% with Avion, and that is assuming you buy an expensive econ ticket. Might as well just get the Capone or MBNA 2% card instead.
