Very disappointed with the new Aeroplan transfer promo, that's the second time I've been affected by non-eligibility (Amex last year, Aventura this year). The title of my post is starting to feel awkward too
I agree, I'm quite disappointed too. Not only is MR missing, they even took out a few transfer partners from last time. Furthermore, they even took out the highest transfer bonus. Last time you would get 40,000 bonus for transferring 150,000, they capped it at 25,000 bonus on 100,000. It probably doesn't affect a lot of people anyway, but the devaluations are really starting to show.

Though on the flip side, Aeroplan and Amex are being quite generous with the 30K sign up bonus, first year annual fee waived with the Amex AeroplanPlus Gold card.

Really could use a MR to BA Avios 50% promo. Last one was in May, 2013. Anyone have the inside scoop?

I'm hoping for MR bonus to anything at this point, just to show that there is still life in the program. I have been watching the US MR having transfer bonus promotions one after another. They have 3 or 4 going on at once right now, as well as adding a new transfer partner. At this point, I'm more worried that they will discontinue some of the transfer programs and move backwards.

Read the 1st post, it's MARCH 2013 :)
and by the trend shown by OP for 2012-2013, you can guess it'll probably be March~May 2014 for AMEX-to-Avios 1.5x, and RBC-to-Avios 1.5x near 2014 yearend

I also want AMEX to have the Avios promotion. 50% is a BIG boost
If RBC are having promotions 2X a year, I think AMEX should too

I think if more people call and inquire they might have it back.

I will call tomorrow and inquire

I hope RBC has the 1.2 - 1.25x multiplier for AA soon.

Could someone help me to understand if converting my 15k RBC points to the BA Avios during the current 50% bonus points is worth it. I've never had RBC or BA points before. Only got it now because RBC is offering FYF and 15k bonus points for any holder of another infinite card.

I don't think I'll keep the RBC card at the renewal with fee. So I understand the RBC points will expire at that time. If I convert to BA points, how do they expire, and how easily could it be to use 22,500 points?

Thanks.

Depends on where you intend to go, how far in advance you book, and how you fly

You might want to check AA's website for eligible award flights for the time periods that you would like to go. Only 12.5k ones are eligible.

Use BA's avios calculator to figure out how much it costs to fly

Wonder if this is done for good, now that they have a WestJet transfer bonus...
