Thanks OP! still waiting for the next Avion --> BA promo
I'm still waiting for the next bonus MR-->BA promo. It's been over a year since the last one.

When is the next MR to Avios bonus? Losing confidence that it will happen again.

So am I. Just switched my Platinum to Gold for a year just to save my points for that bonus. If it doesn't happen within a year I'll transfer 1:1.

The Marriott is a category 8, the Waikiki courtyard is pretty terrible and the only other one is in north shore, or maybe the airport?
Crimsona, any ideas if the Aeroplan conversion bonus is happening this year during July-Aug? The July-Aug bonus has been happening for the past two years (2015, 2016), however given the Aeroplan / Air Canada breakup, is AP more or less likely run conversion promos?

Everyone already knows this but to keep a post for future reference:

Get 35% more Aeroplan points from hotel points transfer to AP between July 17 and August 21, 2017

BONUS MILE CREDITING: Bonus Aeroplan Miles may take up to 4‑6 weeks to be credited after the promotional offer end date of August 21, 2017.

This might have already been covered, but is it possible to convert AMEX Membership Rewards Points into Hotel Points, and then convert those Hotel Points into Aeroplan points to receive the 35% bonus?

Yes... but I wouldn't suggest it.

40,000 AMEX points = 40,000 Aeroplan ( 1:1 )
40,000 AMEX Points = 20000 SPG points ( 2:1 ) = 25,000 Aeroplan + 35% = 33,750 Aeroplan.
I'd love to write history... in advance.

But what about Hilton Honors point?

40,000 AMEX points = 40,000 HH points
40,000 HH points = 54,000 Aeroplan points (with 35% bonus)

Or am I missing something?

Yes, you are missing that 10,000 HH -> 1,000 AP :)

Really... the only reason it would be worth it is if you didn't have a use for SPG points and had something like 19,345 of them or something. Then I'd convert 1,700 Amex MR to get it to a multiple of 20,000 for the SPG 5K bonus.

Or, if you're a little short for a hotel redemption, converting Amex -> SPG can be worth it.
I'd love to write history... in advance.

AmEx to SPG at 2:1, convert 180k membership rewards to 90k SPG, which exchanges to 270k Marriott

7 night travel package gets you 120k Aeroplan and 7 nights at a category 5 hotel, 35 percent bonus means you end up with 162k

180k membership rewards gets you 180k Aeroplan straight up. Or 162k plus 7 hotel nights. It's worth considering

If you had 180k MR *and* 90k SPG ... would you go for the 270k MRP using the MR or the SPG?
Or both?
