Elac Uni-Fi UB5 Speakers - $530 CDN delivered!

Deal Link:
Price:
$349 US
Retailer:
B&H
ELAC Uni-fi UB5 speakers
$349 US ($448.60 CDN) + FREE delivery to Canada + $63.93 US ($81.95 CDN) customs clearance = $530.55 CDN, to your DOOR.

This is the best price Ive ever seen. RIght now Amazon Canada has them on sale for $619 CDN PLUS tax on top, which brings it to over $700.

These speakers are fantastic. Arguably the best under $1k. Designed by Andrew Jones. They do require a decent amp to make them sing though, so don't expect your $99 receiver to produce good sound with these.

Yes. These are often compared to the highly regarded KEF LS50 actually.

They are good but I wouldn't compare them to LS50 level.

Check the reviews. Many people compare them to LS50's. Sure, they're not as good, but are not far off, at a fraction of the price.

Dont need reviews when you've heard both in person.

Elac Uni-Fi are good. I've had them for about a year now. I paid more than this. Overall, Elac is widely regarded as a great value for the price. The Uni-Fi series is a big step up from the B5 and B6 series, which is often compared to the Q100 KEFs.

In Canada, you can get them for $599 at amazon, and a few other retailers like this - https://www.ayreborn.com/products/elac- ... 4742195921

Ayreborn is good. I purchased a few things from them recently (to replace the Elacs in my main 2-channel system), and then speakers for a 5.1 system. Ayreborn also has the B6 and B5s, but I wouldn't bother.

Cameltoejoe, I think at a price somewhere in between, I keep hearing the KEF Q100s are good value - https://www.visions.ca/catalogue/catego ... 5&sku=Q100

I've also heard the PSB Imagines are worth looking into, but I've never heard them in person.

Thanks! got one! Got an Insignia NSSTR514 200W receiver. I hope it's enough to drive them good.
Definitely not. You need to upgrade that. Ideally a name brand 2ch receiver/integrated. That Insignia is going to struggle and you probably won't hear what these speakers are capable of. Put it this way, if when you get them, you're unhappy with the sound quality, I can guarantee you it's not the speakers.

I got these based on forum comment on RFD previous elac discussion. I have to say I've never been so impressed with speakers before. They are amazing value for the money. Totally better then the kef q100. I used them with a nice USB DAC+NAD integrated and sound amazing. I am hearing details in music I never heard before. Of course they also will sound even better over time when once they "break in". I left my system on at a low value for 1 week. And now they sound even better then when new.(another thing I don't feel the need of a sub, with my previous speakers I always needed a soundwoofer to fill in the missing deep, tight bass). I also use tidal for my music and their "hifi" FLAC quality streaming service.

Darn, I just a put an order for LS50. I did enjoy what I hear of LS50 so I'm not gonna change it though.

Note that KEF also has a sales of Q100 and LS50.

This or the KEF Q100 at 350$ http://www.2001audiovideo.com/en/catalo ... 2-KEF-Q100.
these are a step above. The Q100 would be comparable to the Elac B6, and these are the next model up from the B6. These are true three-way speakers, and there are some advantages to that.

If you're listening to music a lot, I would definitely pay extra for these. Great deal.

For a small home theatre, I would get 3 Q100 across the front and call it a day.If your budget is less limited, then 3 LS50 would be awesome
Honey, I can't go to bed yet. Somebody is wrong on the Internet!
